I can't really disagree with that at this point. Larry Hughes has actually been their best player this year, but they aren't going anywhere and should definitely be getting these guys most of the minutes.
The Newsday blog makes a strong case for leaning veteran for the first half of the season and development for the rest.
1) It's not completely throwing in the towel just yet.
2) It's "the right thing to do" to give some of the free agents a chance to show their stuff. If we show that we do right by out players, others are more likely to come.
