What makes Gregg Poppovic good? What makes Phil Jackson good? We don't really know what these coaches are really doing. All we know is that is players, aside from Shawn Marion all loved him and his teams have always been good until this year. Last years Knicks would have been way more unwatchable without him.

I was asking for an X's and O's type explanation of how well he adjusts. Which, I assume is why Pop and Jackson are good.

And "his teams have always been good"? As in, his one stint with the Suns when he had Steve Nash in his prime?

Nate has proven that he can't run the point. He's a 5'9 shooting guard and that's why he's extremely expendable and I hope he isn't back next year. If you want to argue that Toney Douglas should be playing over Duhon than that's fine, but Douglas has played 13 games in his career and he HAS been starting to get more minutes. I would expect to continue. Any Knick fan that complains about anything from last year or this year isn't a real fan. It's the same people that were mad that we didn't sign Jason Kidd or Grant Hill in the offseason. Do you just not get that nothing matters until next year? Getting worked up or upset over literally anything that happens this year is that silly. With that said, FREE JORDAN HILL.

Also, he had Nash but so did Terry Porter and we saw how that went.

wat

The only argument for Copstache being a good coach seems to be "Players like playing him, so we can attract free agents." He has made no adjustments to try and cure our woes on either end of the floor. I mean, He has to be at least partially at fault for when our players don't hustle to close in on wide open opponents, right?

And what exactly is the X's and O's reasoning for shooting the ball in 7 seconds or less? Rushing every possession and forcing up low % shots seems like a -EV philosophy.

Also Nash is 35 and has been declining the last couple of years. Stoudamire was also injured during Porter's time.

There is only one cure. To get these players the **** out of the city. They are bums and losers. There isn't a championship rotation on the roster. Gallinari is looking like he's going to become one. Lee is debatable but his lack of defense this year has been embarrassing.

It's also hard to get a lot out of your players when they all know that he, the organization, and the fans don't give two ****s about them after this year. We all want them gone and we should. I don't have a shred of emotional attachment to anyone on this team, including David Lee who is my favorite player in basketball.

I don't really know why you're getting worked up over how they are playing this year. Does it really matter if they win 22 games or 28 games?

I don't know the X's and O's of what D'Antoni is doing with them because I don't give a ****. Nothing this year matters in the slightest. I'd rather watch teams that matter.

Also the 7 second offense is a total myth perpetrated by the media for idk why. They absolutely don't subscribe to it.

They don't have anyone else to run the offense.

This is a really great post. I know losing sucks, but it was inevitable given the talent level on the roster and the well documented plan of action for the team over the coming couple of years.

Maybe he doesn't want Jordan Hill to play so Hill won't get infected with the virus that is this team. It would have to be that. I mean they're getting blown out by Sacramento so it's not like Hill is on the bench because it gives them a good chance at winning. Let the ****ing kid learn. He's got a 61.1 TS% in the limited minutes he's played. He's looked decent but it's been mop-up time. What is there to lose?

Some specifics about D'Antoni's style do bug me. The supposed lack of focus on defense, no tough practices, etc. The possible counters to that are that the best defense is a good offense, and that player morale might balance out the lax practicing. I'm certainly not willing to pass the slightest bit of judgment until February 2011 at the earliest.

One thing you can say for Riley is that he could probably squeeze a handful more wins out of the current team. He could make opposing players scared to drive the lane, if for no other reason than Gallinari would always be a threat to give you a flagrant 2 to the back of the head.

I can't wait until the LeBron/Bosh Knicks get knocked out of the '11 playoffs in the Eastern semis in 5, Copstache gets fired, and we get Riley again. Will those players ever be surprised when Riley has them literally vomiting daily at training camp!

Hopefully Wade/bosh ... Thus improving the chances of Riley

The sick player he drafted... Plus bosh is the guy he openly wanted to draft

Or Bosh goes to the Heat, we get LeBron, and we have Knicks-Heat rivalry 2.0. Wade/Bosh would destroy us though if we didn't get another big piece.

Hill has the highest PER on the team. Passing on Jennings may not have been a mistake?

The Knicks should be sending out

PG-Douglas
SG-Chandler
SF-Gallinari
PF-Hill
C-David Mother****ing Lee

For most of the game. There's no reason not to.

I can't really disagree with that at this point. Larry Hughes has actually been their best player this year, but they aren't going anywhere and should definitely be getting these guys most of the minutes.

Yeah, Hughes looks good running the pick and roll with DLee. He doesn't panic and pick up his dribble like Duhon. But this season should be concentrating on developing our young players at this point.
