tonight gonna be tough. Miami 14-2 at home etc etc, be great if this mimic last year where billups shot that 3 in wades face and knicks get improbable win in miami
J.R. was indeed fined $1.06 million by his China team (about 1/3 his total salary), for missing practice, lol. What a knuckle head.

Smith had US $1.06 million deducted from his salary over the course of the season for missing practices. Most of the missed practices came during pre-season while his team, Zhejiang Chouzhou, was getting ready for the start of the regular season. The sum was deducted from his salary, a final number that represented about one-third of his total salary.
I don't understand how he barely gets off the floor anymore when he goes up. Don't they notice this in practice and see something is clearly wrong with him? He gets blocked or misses every single dunk he takes as long as he's not wide open. Sometimes he gets fouled, but it's a slight foul and shouldn't prevent him from finishing. I don't understand what could be wrong with him that isn't showing up on a medical exam.

I read in other threads Amare put on 20 pounds of muscle (suppoosedly he bragged about it).
I am guessing in his infinite wisdom, he gained upper body bulk and the Knicks trainers were powerless to stop him due to lockout.

I mean, I've gained 20ish lbs of muscle several times in my life and didn't change my athleticism THAT MUCH. Even if he gained it all in his upper body and none in his legs, I don't see how that's responsible for what appears to be an astronomical decrease in his vertical. If he did have 20 lbs more of muscle you'd think he'd at least be able to box out more effectively for boards.
Just by watching him I would think the issue is more medical. Something in the leg or a knee.
Hey guys, remember when I was getting **** in this thread for saying DLee @ $11mil/yr > Amare for the max?
good times, good times
There was a good amount of value in the act of doing something that summer rather than nothing. Perception is everything and Melo might not come without that first half-season with Amare. Then again, maybe the Knicks would have been able to hang tight and wait to sign/trade for actual good players like CP3 and Dwight.
