Man looking at the starting lineups during some of those games it's unbelievable that we didn't get blown out in every one.
To be fair, most of those teams suck. You could say the same thing wrt Lin not being good, but at least he has big numbers to back it up.

Don't know what else to say. If you guys think Jeffries and Chandler is a strong enough frontcourt to do damage against good teams in the playoffs, so be it. Personally, I don't, and I'm praying to jeebus that Amare finds himself after the ASB so we can be as good as we are on paper, and not losing games to the Nets and Hornets at home.

When's Harrelson coming back?

Jeffries can't possibly be a long term starter solution because how hard he plays will get him in foul trouble all the time.

JORTS won't be back till the 2nd week of March probably.

I'm worried we won't have any minutes for him when he comes back though

PSU debacle is still ongoing. Kids probably a bit more off limits than usual.

Major +1

This is a forum, certain types of posts have appropriate venues and threads to be presented.

This is the Knicks thread ffs, as the mod pointed out that **** is not welcome here. To defend yourself by saying you thought it was "pretty funny" just causes (mostly) everyone to simply lose respect for you. Take those "jokes" to 4L.

--------

I'm hoping the Knicks can emotionally rebound, win tomorrow vs. ATL with Melo playing better, and pick up some steam/momentum going into South Beach.

Super tough game on a 2nd night Road B2B, gotta love this schedule, but at least the Knicks seem to come through in big moments.

there were alot of promising signs last game

melo was playing within the flow of the offense, not holding the ball or playing off of iso's

just hope he doesnt lose faith in the system if the knicks drop a few games here and tries to take over the team

seems like there not enough shots to go around now however with lin/melo/stat allin there

cant really have 3 big scorers on the same team

amare and his 40yr old knees should go

If anything I think Melo should have isoed more.

He's obviously trying to buy into the system but he's going to have to find a balance.

Key to Melo was he took the ball to the hoop, something he really stopped doing when he was banged up and the team was struggling. He is an incredible player getting to the basket. Ran pretty bad around the rim with finishing and fouls last night and was obviously rusty.

With Lin opening things up he should be able to take the ball to the rim a lot easier.

He only shot it 11 times. If Bill Walker is playing 33 minutes he is going to shoot 11 times. We want Melo to shoot, just the right shots.

AGame getting WAY too much **** for the kids/rape comment, it was completely obvious he was joking. Probably not the best/most sensitive comment but cmon, it seems like people are just jumping on him bc it's agame and he's taking an opposite viewpoint in an argument.

This is the thing... Melo got 11 shots with 6TOs and 6Assists. Without looking at tape I am sure Melo should have taken some of those 12 shots himself.

In a way he's buying into the system TOO much and not giving himself enough credit that he's the best scorer on the team and him vs. 1, even 2 defenders is higher probability than Jeffries or Fields with an open shot.

One thing I'm worried about is that Melo becomes so hellbent on showing that this is Lin's offense to run that we never find a balance to get him going. A lot of being an elite scorer is finding rhythm and I think that if we become too obsessed with this team offense we will forget that Melo is our CLEAR #1 option and one of the best scorers in the game. I think its worth a few bad possessions if it helps Melo get a better feel for his shot/more comfortable in the game

I am sure Lin and Dantoni both are telling the Melo same thing right now in practice.

Lin's too smart and Melo too competitive to not find a balance.

Well it's easier to find that balance going from last night as opposed to if he came back and took 28 shots.

Can't really be too tough on Melo considering the way people have been talking about him for a month (unfairly imo). The fact that he is conscious of it all is important enough.

It's been amusing to see everybody worried about Melo coming back and taking too many shots and ISO'ing too much and now everybody is complaining that he's not taking enough shots/handling the ball enough.

Oh what a difference a loss makes.

That may be true but it feels like they would have to do that despite Dantonis best effort to screw up. I am tired of listening about his supersystem while we getting torched by DWil and he is not even attempting to create tougher match up for him. Common, double him, switch Fields of JR on him, for **** sake do something. Anyone can remember a game where knicks made half time defensive adjustment or any adjustment whatsoever?

Melo basically doing the opposite of what the negative narrative about him was during Linsanity. Hope fans start to come around on him.

Melo's just not very smart. With Lin showing him smart basketball... all that's left for Melo is shaking off the rust and he's gonna be a force to be reckoned with.

Melo even played good d today.
