New York Knicks: You trying to get the pipe? New York Knicks: You trying to get the pipe?

Great post Geoff.

It's my first post back in here since #LINsanity started.

And well... he's amazing, not just as a player but as a person too. He has that swag about him on the court, that confidence, that "it" factor.

Off the court he is a consummate gentleman and teammate. He's getting asked questions about his great performances and who does he talk about? Jared ****ing Jeffries. A guy who doesn't post great stats, but plays hard 24/7. Lin is a true point guard, distributing the ball during the game, and credit to his teammates after it.

Everyone is playing harder for Lin. They all admit basketball is fun again, and when something is fun it's only natural you'll play better. There's less stress, you loosen up, and you come together as a team. Also of note is the psychological effect - you're around good people, and good things happen. Lin is one of those "good people".

The Knicks have been aching for a point guard all season, and for years before too.
It was incredibly disheartening to see the Knicks select Jordan Hill in the 2009 Draft at 8th overall when Rubio was selected 5th and Steph Curry was selected 7th. Both players expressed publicly their desire to play for the NY Knicks. 3 very capable PG's were selected later in the draft: Brandon Jennings (10th), Jrue Holiday (17th), and Ty Lawson (18th) - all of whom are starters in the NBA now. Donnie Walsh even later admitted to making a big mistake in this draft.

But now we have Jeremy Lin, almost a gift from God. His hometown team, the Golden State Warriors, didn't want him. The Houston Rockets had him for 2 weeks but never gave him an opportunity to show them what he can do. They also chose to let him go. Jeremy Lin was not only passed up twice (1st+2nd Round) in the 2010 NBA Draft, but a 3rd and perhaps 4th time by nearly every team in the league who could have claimed him on waivers, but didn't.

Some players would feel sorry for themselves, but not Lin. He had that chip on his shoulder and simply made the best of his opportunity with the Knicks. It's not just a story of an underdog having success in basketball. It's about a man who after years of hard work and dedication to his passion, finally getting that opportunity to prove himself. When so many men, in all facets of life, for whatever reason.. simply do not. Jeremy Lin's success, is our success too.

Go Knicks

Yeah I'd say stick with the Knicks. I grew up in Manhattan rooting for the Knicks and now live in Brooklyn, but even if I stay in Brooklyn forever I gotta stay with NYK. They'll always be the New Jersey Nets to me

Knicks and Jeremy Lin.. Maybe it really was meant to be..

Cross post from the Lin thread:

I found a youtube video of Jeremy Lin titled:

Jeremy Lin Visits NYC

The Video is from August 2010! It's kind of spooky to see Lin walking around Manhattan.

It's even spookier to see Lin getting his caricature drawn. The artist drew him with the Manhattan skyline and he looks more like a NY Knick than a GS Woya in the drawing.

I pulled some screenshots for you guys from the vid:

Here is Lin commenting about a Yao caricature, saying "You know you've made it when there's a little caricature picture of yourself."

I am just not worried about Melo&Lin. Melo looks pretty happy that he doesn't have to play point anymore.

Not finding anything on this either.

Can't imagine Knicks trading BD when the team's most pressing need now is another PG.

March Schedule for the Knicks is utterly brutal. Be nice if they could get through these next 8 at a 6-2 clip, be two games over going into death month.

Linning pick and rolls with Amare is gonna be sick, especially vs. the hapless Raptors.

I am hoping they put the game out of reach (30+ lead) so Lin can just sit out for the final 10 minutes of the game.
