I'm projecting a #3 seed for the Knicks, and I expect the Celtics to be at best a #4 seed. I say also the Knicks will get to the ECF where they will give fits to whoever plays them.

Welcome B-Diddy to the Knicks!

In the meantime, it appears that Toney Douglas will be more of a spot-up shooter and Carmelo will be running the point-forward!

Quote:
As it is, Douglas, who has struggled in running the offense, already has been moved off the ball and is now used as an outlet shooter, and Carmelo Anthony has been running the offense over the last few practices. Anthony has embraced the "point-forward" role and has looked comfortable as a facilitator. Despite his reputation as a scorer, Anthony has great court awareness and passing instincts. He whipped a few dazzling passes in Saturday's win over the Nets and in recent practices seems fully engaged in the offense.

Here's Melo's no-look pass from the preseason opener!

Hollinger pickin the Celtics to win 44 games and then picking the Knicks o win 35 with the shortened season/lack of depth as a main reason is classic.

It wouldn't matter if the Knicks had appropriate depth, D'Antoni wouldn't be playing them anyway!

**** Hollinger

Kinda ****ty D'antoni right now doeasnt have the PG he wants. Once Baron gets healthy, this team will take another step up offensively

The Celtics are in serious trouble this season I think. They literally have zero depth on the front court.

I'm confident that Melo can do a decent enough job running the point-forward. At the very least it should create some exciting basketball.

Think about it, Douglas works best as a spot up shooter anyway. You have the primary ball-handler, this case it's a forward in Melo, and the floor spacing works better.

Melo should be able to bide time until B-Diddy is healthy, in which the Knicks will have more distribution offensive options than most teams. For example, having a well-run Melo point-forward attack could help wear down LeBron in a playoff series.

This can't be underrated, I'm really surprised seeing all the people in TZ predicting Boston to have either #3 slot or #4 slot in the East.

They're old-er and more prone to injury as well, which would take them out of their chances at the #3 seed. Heck, Rivers will prob. have to rest his stars at certain parts of the season, hurting their win column.

Based solely on watching 15 min of last night's game, and looking up his college stats, I'm hoping Harrellson gets a shot in the rotation. Looks like he could provide quality. Wide, moves well, knows how to rebound.

Dantoni is gonna make Chandler shoot because that's what his system tells him to do.

Chandler is a great player but I guarantee Dantoni is gonna misuse him and we'll wish we picked up someone more versatile.

He'll never be double teamed and he'll never be guarded by opposing teams first option. So he should be able to pick up 8-10 points a night, buh he'll never touch the ball enough to score more...How do you misuse him?
