at the same time, it's not the end of the world effen. the team is going to be exponentially better going forward than they have been over the next 10 years.

It negates 5 years of knowing we'd suck to this point. This is the same as getting Boozer/Joe Johnson this past offseason. Actually that team is better with all the other pieces and just as dicked cap wise. OH LOOK TWO MORE YEARS AND WE CAN MAYBE POSSIBLY GOD I HOPE SIGN SOMEONE ELSE. Sorry been through that once, got the t-shirt. The org didn't get the message. Like Alzheimers patients I swear.

Pros - Melo

Cons - the bench is pretty horrific. Everyone keeps talking about Felton and Chauncey being a wash... somehow i doubt it. We had to give up every trading chip we had except Fields. Our tallest player is 5'8''. Dolan overshot Donnie, and Isiah is back.

From a fan standpoint it will be pretty awsome watching 2 superstars a night instead of 0 like the past 10 years.

Gonna miss Felton tho. ;/

Stop me if I'm getting ahead of myself:

Billups/Azubuike (combined $16.5M expiring) for Nash and either Gortat/Pietrus/Childress.

Chad Ford article on the deal. Basically says that best case scenario gives us ~11 million in cap space in 2012 which leaves us unlikely to be in a position to sign Paul or Williams.

It also mentions that we don't have a first round pick to offer until 2016(!). Do we seriously not have any 1st round picks in 2011,2012 & 2013? Where did they all go?

I don't understand how that is possible the Knicks currently have 3 players on the books in 2012 why can't they just fill out the roster with scrubs

I mean the hard cap could easily be the current luxury tax cap. That article sucks and it's pretty awful to completely ignore chances of the cap going up.

you can't your own 1st in back to back years. the knicks have their 2011, 2013, 2015 1st rd picks and have traded their 2012 (houston) and 2014 (denver) 1st rounders.

Oh, and I'm not sure how many of you listen to Boomer and Carton - but Peter Vecsey is a confirmed ******. He thinks the Knicks will be worse than .500 for the rest of the season, and that they did not upgrade the team at all lol
