New York Knicks: You trying to get the pipe? New York Knicks: You trying to get the pipe?

I'm probably Chandler's biggest fan but 5/60 is too much based on 35 games of good play this year. He's still likely running hot on his jumpers. He's no Shawne Williams.

That's what Al Horford just got and he's going to be a perennial all-star big. Chandler might even be close to that (probably not though), but based on the market there's no way they should have to give him that.

walsh saying hes def going to resign wilson in the offseason. the article says league sources say he is worth around 5 yrs 60mill. hmmm
Also, any article that cites "league sources" should never be taken seriously. Other teams have plenty of incentive to leak bullsht.

What a beating we just put on the suns. Pretty bad defensive game from them, routinely had good runs.

**Melo update**

Friend emailed this to me, not sure of the source. I wonder if he is "bluffing" to try an force NYK hands?

Either way, not sure if I really want to give up 2-3 Rd1 picks + some combination of Gallo/Chandler/Fields to get him.

Source: Anthony Will Sign With Nets

By: Alex Raskin Last Updated: 1/9/11 8:18 PM ET | 9720 times read

The on-again off-again Carmelo Anthony trade rumors kicked into high gear this weekend with Al Iannazzonne's report in the Bergen Record that a three-team deal involving as many as 15 players is on the table. Of course, the proposed deal has always been contingent on Anthony agreeing to sign an extension with the Nets upon completion of a trade.

That caveat now seems to be fading.

Sources close to the negotiations have told HOOPSWORLD that they "heard it from the horse's mouth" that Anthony will, in fact, sign a three-year $65 million extension should he be traded to New Jersey.

The Nuggets forward does have motivation to sign an extension before this summer. If the NBA's labor situation doesn't get resolved, there could be a much-different financial landscape coming out of a potential lockout. Anthony would be wise to lock in an extension now before new salary-reducing measures take place.

The Nets would likely be sending rookie Derrick Favors, point guard Devin Harris, shooting guard Anthony Morrow and as few as two first-round picks to the Nuggets while Troy Murphy's expiring contract and center Johan Petro would go to the Pistons, according to Iannazzone's report. Meanwhile New Jersey would get Chauncey Billups from Denver and Richard Hamilton (who has two years and $25 million left on his deal after this season) from Detroit.

The Pistons, however, are unwilling to include their own first-round pick while absorbing Petro's $3.25 million deal, according to an ESPN.com report by Chris Broussard and Marc Stein.

If Detroit can't be satisfied, the Nuggets and Nets could include another team that will offer a pick or take Petro, who has two more years on his contract after this season.

The deal could potentially include several more draft picks and players, such as the Nets' Stephen Graham, Ben Uzoh and Quinton Ross as well as the Pistons' Terrico White and the Nuggets' Shelden Williams.

But the deals wouldn't stop there. Should Harris be acquired by Denver, another source has told HOOPSWORLD that he could be sent to Portland for a package that includes Andre Miller and/or Marcus Camby, who are both being shopped around by the Blazers. Miller's deal includes a team option for next season, which would likely be declined by the Nuggets, who are looking to shed payroll.

However, the Rockets believe that they too are still in contention for Anthony, a source familiar with their situation told HOOPSWORLD. It is their belief, as well as other teams around the league's belief, that Denver is publicizing the trade rumors in order to get the most out of an Anthony trade. Essentially Nuggets executive vice president of basketball operations Masai Ujiri is making his last call for trade offers.

Billups could present a minor obstacle. His agent Andy Miller told ESPN.com's Chris Sheridan that Billups would "want to be bought out so he could survey the landscape," should he be traded to New Jersey. However, Billups' displeasure isn't likely to be enough to derail negotiations with the Nets.

Because the trade involves so many Nets players, the deal would likely have to be completed soon because the team needs warm bodies for Wednesday's game in Phoenix.

The New Jersey Nets are in their first of two seasons at Newark's Prudential Center, but plan to be in Brooklyn for the 2012-2013 season. Anthony, who attended high school in Maryland and Virginia, is originally from Red Hook, Brooklyn.

I'm not going to believe anything until there is a press conference with Melo holding up a Nets jersey.

The Nuggets went so far as to tell the Nets that they would deal their star to the New York Knicks if New Jersey continued to leak information on trade talks, Yahoo! Sports reported on Tuesday. But sources told ESPN.com that while the Nuggets were indeed unhappy, threats of a deal with the Knicks couldn't be confirmed.

I vote for:

New York Knicks - The Resurgence Begins

or

New York Knicks - Relevant Again

Also nice win over the Blazers tonight, with A+ 4th qtr play

I like "We're Back"

Short, sweet, and to the point. Maybe throw in a little Amare "the Jew" Stoudemire somewhere

Walt was hilarious tonight. After Landry Fields flew into Mike Breen chasing a loose ball, Walt said "good thing he didn't knock over my tea, I would've slapped him".

15 years ago I used to hate listening to Walt (John Andareise baby!) but he has become a really good color man. Only thing that bugs me is how he always rounds down statistics. For example, he'll say something like "Raymond is averaging 17 points a game" when he is at 17.9. Or tonight he said "Amare is averaging 2 assists per game, 1 over his career high", when Amare is averaging 2.6!

According to the report, "The Denver Nuggets delivered a stern warning to the New Jersey Nets: Unless the public nature of these trade discussions becomes private, be warned that we will send Anthony to the New York Knicks."
ONE TIME

Probably empty threat... but c'mon!

Knicks might be marginally relevant now in the sense they can make it to the playoffs finally but I doubt anyone thinks they have a chance with the way they lost to... say the lakers.
