Let's hope you're right.

Neither the Chargers or Ravens looked threatening in their game today. Perhaps some good defense simply made the other team's offense look weak.

But, I'm feeling better about the scenario which has unfolded.

So are there two "new" HCs in the division - any restricted free agents we should target this off-season? Wes Welker and Gilmore were acquired this way.

I was feeling really good early in the game.

But, from the time Brady through the interception from the 1 yard line, that was one of the most stressful games I've ever watched.

Yeah that game went from feeling like they were coast after dominating to 1st qtr to feeling like it was going to be one of those games where you look back on 1 or 2 plays that you messed up and it cost you the game.

Defense was alot better than i thought they would be. Roll on another Superbowl.

Hell of a game. Looked pretty solid in all phases besides a couple really dumb uncharacteristic mistakes. Feeling pretty good about our chances vs the rams.

It was that sudden squall of mistakes in the 3rd with the failing to convert the 4th and 1, punt muff (overturned), INT, blown coverage on the screen. I think they were all in like 2 minutes of game time.

Best part of the win is we won't have to listen to people rehashing the Miami game for 8 months.

The downside is they play the Rams, so now all the Super Bowl XXXVI cheating talk will re-emerge.

An under reported part of the win was how good the Patriots covered Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce.

This was the best article I found on it.

WEEI: How Patriots shut down Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce in AFC championship

Quote:
The Chiefs finished with 290 total yards of offense, their lowest output of the entire season and fewest since Week 12 of last year. Hill and Kelce combined for four catches and 65 yards.

Hill only had one catch, a 42-yard reception in the first half.

The Patriots used Jonathan Jones and sometimes Keion Crossen with help over the top with a safety against the speedy receiver. It was clear they thought the best way to control Hill was with speed, as Jones and Crossen are the fastest members of the secondary.

...Kelce had three catches for 23 yards and a touchdown. In the first half, J.C. Jackson was on him, but after his third quarter touchdown, Stephon Gilmore moved over from Sammy Watkins and shut him down the remainder of the game.

Did they talk about some jackass fan shining a laser pointer in toms face during the game? I don't remember it at all and just heard about it today. If that happened to Mahomes in Gillette the talking heads would be talking about it nonstop as lasergate. I know he's purposely doing a shtick but I couldn't believe that idiot Kellerman didn't finally eat crow today and admit he's wrong. Like yeah Max, Brady's just lucky and the cliff is being in the super bowl each of the last 3 years.

I don't think it was discussed on the broadcast, but I was following a game thread in a Pats forum and several posters noticed it and pointed it out during the game.

So apparently 98.5 has their ratings strategy as "Let's troll the fans" and repeat ourselves over and over and over. I swear to god Felger & mazz and then Jones, all they do is **** all over the local teams. I'm all for honest conversation, but they just constantly bring up straw man arguments, "oh! Pats fans are saying X!" And then proceed to dump all over that phantom take for 40 minutes. It's like the Russians in the troll factory in Moscow are running the show over there.

I mean, I like that they're not complete homers, but jfc, you got to @#$@# all over us on the day after one of the best games of the year?

I watch felger and mazz while I'm at the gym. They just say things for ratings, it is what it is.

Would be pretty funny after Felger and Mazz spending the whole baseball season ****ting on the sox and having them win the world series if now the pats win the superbowl after they spend the whole season ****ting on them. Felger has been especially bad this week, cant go 2 sentences without saying the refs helped while attacking any caller that brings up the calls that went for KC. Felger would fit in well on this forum, a packers fan who hates the Pats.

This will finally be the year Pats have a boring easy superbowl win.

Those numbers are incredible, Prawney. Thanks.

I don't know about an easy win, tho. That's what I expect from them *every* SB, and it never happens. Never.

Dynasty, I don't follow football as closely as I used to, so this is a completely uninformed opinion: is it a lot easier to shut down Hill and Kelce after Hunt gets himself sent to Siberia? On the surface, that KC teams looked a lot less Juggernaut after Hunt got launched into the sun.

I can't believe anyone takes seriously any of these Kellerman/Mazz types. It's like when I cried after Chief Jay Stongbow got attacked by Captain Lou Albano--this stuff isn't supposed to be taken seriously.

If you find yourself feeling even slightly agitated by anything these dopes say, check yourself.

Just went through the 32-page prop bet list from Westgate. I like all the Hogan props under (42.5 yds, 3.5 recpts, longest recept 19.5, and no TD -180), and all the Michel vs Gurley props (+7.5 yds, +130 Michel to score TD before Gurley)...has Gurley even PLAYED in these playoffs????

BTW, you know that Bill Simmons thing where he dreams of going 11-0 ATS in the postseason? I'm 10-0, with one to go. I'm thinking of taking the Rams this week, for one reason only: a consolation prize if my team loses the SB.

(I'm not taking 2.5 tho, I'm waiting to see if it goes to 3 before making my historic selection.)

I'm sure it had to be much easier. In the week 6 regular season game, Hunt had 80 yards rushing on 10 carries and 105 yards receiving on 5 receptions. That was Hunt's best receiving game of the year.

I stumble across this video analyzing the Patriots overtime drive against the Chiefs. It seems insightful to me.

Ok, my quest to go 11-0 ATS ends for good or bad with: Pats -2.5.

BB just owns young QB's.
