At least it wasn't "(so much for our happy endings)".

I think we're going to let like everyone go again this off-season unless they're taking discounts. Most interested to see what they do at WR.

Pretty optimistic for next season. Lots of draft picks, Wynn & Bentley back, etc.

Golden Tate would look really good on this team.

A friend tried to get me excited about landing OBJ. I balked.

Now Michael Bennett? THAT excites me!

This one hurts.

This is no "next man up" to replace Gronk.

The Patriots have some real problems to solve in their passing game.

It majorly sucks but Iím happy for the guy. He was an absolute pleasure to watch, seemed like a great dude too. Glad he gets to leave on his own terms.

Same. Think this is clearly what is best for him and his long term health. Selfishly would have loved him to stick around as long as Tom does, but happy for him. Seemed like a good guy, always worked hard, and achieved an insane amount despite so many injury setbacks.

I assume this now frees up his cap hit for the rest of his contract (aside from guaranteed money)? If not, how does it work? Also...

Let's say this happens and he comes back for the last 4 games + playoffs. How do the financials work? Does his existing contract simply get pro-rated? Obviously he would whiff on all his incentive clauses.

Green Bay at Chicago will be the Thursday Night opener.

The Patriots will play at home on Sunday Night Football in Week 1.

I'll change my ranking to: (1) Kansas City, (2) Dallas, and (3) Cleveland.

That's better for the ticket holders. Monday/Thursday games blow.

Re: New England Patriots: Knocking on Seven's Door (Now with Happy Endings)

2019 Patriots Schedule

Week 1: 9/8: vs. Pittsburgh, 8:20 PM Sunday Night Football
Week 2: 9/15 @ Miami, 1:00 PM
Week 3: 9/22 vs. NY Jets, 1:00 PM
Week 4: 9/29 @ Buffalo, 1:00 PM
Week 5: 10/6 @ Washington, 1:00 PM
Week 6: 10/10 vs. NY Giants, 8:20 PM Thursday Night Football
Week 7: 10/21 @ NY Jets, 8:15 PM Monday Night Football
Week 8: 10/27 vs. Cleveland, 4:25 PM
Week 9: 11/3 @ Baltimore, 8:20 PM Sunday Night Football
Week 10: bye
Week 11: 11/17 @ Philadelphia, 4:25 PM
Week 12: 11/24 vs. Dallas, 4:25 PM
Week 13: 12/1 @ Houston , 8:20 PM Sunday Night Football
Week 14: 12/8 vs. Kansas City, 4:25 PM
Week 15: 12/15 @ Cincinnati, 1:00 PM
Week 16: 12/22 vs. Buffalo, TBD
Week 17: 12/29 vs. Miami , 1:00 PM

Quick Notes

We've got five primetime games. But, the Baltimore and Houston SNF games look a little soft.

We've got four late afternoon games (three at home) this year vs. Cleveland, @ Philadelphia, vs. Dallas, and vs. Kansas City. An argument could be made that all four are more appealing as a primetime game than Baltimore.

For those who actually attend games, the Patriots have early games only in week 3 (vs. NY Jets), week 17 (vs, Miami), and possibly week 16 (vs. Buffalo which is TBD).

The dreaded @ Miami game is in week 2. Maybe it's only a jinxed destination if it's a late season game.

From weeks 4 through 11, we play two home games and five away games (plus the bye week). That could be a problematic stretch.

Of course, the week 10 bye week is great.

A bunch of us were hyped up to go to the @HOU game for the past several months. Of course they have to schedule it on ****ing Thanksgiving weekend and we have to call it off

Re: New England Patriots: Knocking on Seven's Door (Now with Happy Endings)

The early stories I'm reading make me feel good about the Patriots drafting WR N'Keal Harry in the first round.

5 reasons why the Patriots drafted Arizona State WR N’Keal Harry

Quote:
He’s a big and strong receiver at 228 pounds with a 99th percentile 27 reps on the bench press. He has an impressive 38.5” vertical jump that he uses to pluck the ball out of the air. And he uses his 6.89s three cone to shake defenders and pick up yards after the catch. He’s a dominant athlete for his size.

...Harry is a polished route runner with an expansive tree that should allow him to find a role in the offense on day one.

...Harry is capable of disguising his routes and shaking defenders just enough to create separation and he can do it from anywhere on the formation.

...Harry is great at making sure the ball gets in his hands, even if he’s covered by a defender. According to Pro Football Focus, Harry had the third-most contested catches in college football over the past two seasons and “ranked first with a 57.5% contested catch percentage.” So if Tom Brady throws the ball up, Harry is likely to come down with it.

...According to Pro Football Focus, no receiver has more plays of 15+ yards than Harry over the past two seasons of college football. Harry’s able to change direction on a dime, even though his size should prevent him from doing so, and he’ll always fight for extra yardage.

Quick Notes
Some friends and I plan come to Home opener from Vancouver this year. Buying tickets do you think its best wait closer to or would be financially smart lock them in now? ( cheapest on stub hub is 445$ USD)
Never been to a game before just looking for some advice, I take it SNF makes the tickets more expensive.
