I think he means round 3, as in, the 3rd time we play them this year.

i don't get the pats/jets rivalry, maybe because i don't live on the east coast anymore. the jets just haven't been good enough for long enough to warrant a real rivalry. the pats have more history in big games with indy/steelers/ravens/chargers.

The rivalry heated up when Parcells left for the Jets and later when Belichick returned to the Patriots.

It isn't really based on competitiveness over recent years.

Of course, they've always been in the same division and the Boston-New York thing comes into play.

We need to get back to the tradition of knocking the Colts out of the playoffs. I think we're actually only 1-1 in AFC title games right? This is partially because the colts dodged us early in 2007 by laying down, but we ducked them too last year.

anyway close wins in the regular season are fine, but its in the playoffs that we really ruin Manning's life.

Next Weekend
#6 New York Jets at #3 Indianapolis Colts
#5 Baltimore Ravens at #4 Kansas City Chiefs

Based simply on Points per Game, the Patriots appear to have a good draw. They are less likely to meet the dangerous offensive teams early in the playoffs. In addition to the San Diego Chargers missing the playoffs, the Colts getting the #3 seed means they can't face the Patriots until the AFC Championship.

The other teams should finish outside the top 10 in pts/gm with nobody impressing in the passing game.

Pittsburgh and Baltimore have elite defense, but the Pats put up 39 in Pittsburgh in Week 10. I'm not worried about the Pats being able to score.
Today appears to be another good day for the Patriots.

The #1 (Indianapolis) and #3 (New Orleans) passing teams based on total yards got eliminated.

Tomorrow, one of the two remaining best passing teams (Green Bay and Philadelphia) will get eliminated.

After that, Pittsburgh is statistically the best passing team.

Let the Patriots - Jets hype begin.

Yeeee Hawww. This is going to be a fun week.

It was a real pleasure reading all the Jets fans ripping their team and giving up before halftime in the in game thread. lolz.

Best possible scenario today. Now all we need is for the Chiefs and Eagles to win. Jets ---> KC ---> SEA, one time!

Foxboro is in the middle of nowhere. literally. you need to decide if you want to stay near there - which you don't - vs. staying anywhere else, like Boston or Providence.

I guess if you are coming up late and with a bunch of guys you could make you own little party in your room Saturday night somewhere near Foxboro, but otherwise...

i couldnt root for them, but goddamn am i happy NY won that game. both from the perspective of i think that they are better for us to play and the fact that i want to see them get sodomized in foxboro one more time.

pretty nice weekend. I was rooting for the Chiefs but meh they didn't have much chance to win @ Pitts anyways, and maybe Baltimore and Pittsburgh will kill each other this weekend.

I'm real glad we won't have to play Baltimore AND Pittsburgh, and this matchup vs the Jets is as good as anyone could hope for, unless you're Chicago and get to host a 7-9 team wtf

Your staying at the Red Roof on route 1 like a half a mile from the stadium? If it's that the case I'm surprised there were rooms available. Where are your seats?

http://www.gillettestadium.com/stadium_information/. 217 is not bad, corner of the endzone but fairly close the field. Right below our three superbowl banners (which I'm sure you'll love).

It totally depends on the section in terms of how bad you'll get heckled and actually really just the people around you. My experience is that most fans at Gillette are pretty good but there are definately a good number of yahoos that will give you a hard time. And with Monday being a holiday, there might be a bunch more drunk a-holes. You'll most definately get heckled, which I'm sure you knew, it's just how civil they'll be.

I've never been to Philly but I'm quite sure it's not as bad as that.

This whole "Brady was at a play instead of watching the Jets-Colts game" thing is pretty funny. I'm guessing some paparazzi caught him in Manhattan. I can understand having a vested interest in immediately learning your next playoff opponent, and he admitted to checking his blackberry for score updates and later watching the 2nd half, lots of players watch the playoffs and other games because they're a part of the game and genuinely want to know what's going on. But I'm guessing he was less interested in the NBC broadcast than the All-22 coaches film cut, edited, highlighted and dissected by the myriad of assistant coaches he'd be looking at first thing on Monday.

Yeah I don't think any Pats fans are worried about whatever Brady's prepping routine is anymore. However much time he spends is obviously enough to get him ready 99% of the time.
