The difference between me and Traids is that I say I hate all of my cousins but deep down I love my grandparents, but Traids is that kid from around the corner just throwing rocks at the whole family.

Well unlike the Jets the Pats have actually been trying the last couple of years, so they didn't have over 100mm in unused cap across 2015 and 2016.

Jets are using their unused cap quite well this year so far, I must admit.

From what I have read, however, the Pats are going to massively under the cap next year.

I'm sorry, I just don't give a **** about the cap. Put good players on the field unless it's something ridiculous.

Damn right.

LOL yea that's true.

I'm pretty happy with what NYJ did this offseason with all that space. Complete overhaul on secondary which was our weakest position. Only thing im not to happy with is overpaying Cro. He got like pennies from ARZ last year, Had major season then got big payday 8M annually from NYJ. Hoping he wasnt on PED's. But contract breaks down where we can cut him after 2 years. Same with Skrine so not to bad.

I just wanna say like literally with our secondary being freak nasty. Our front 7 is just gonna go crazy. I fully expect huge numbers out of Sheldon and Wilkerson. Since theyll have more time to get after the QB since we got lockdown corners now. Plus with Bowles blitz heavy defense (He blitzed more than 50% of the time...That's borderline insanity LOL) Gonna be craziness when NYJ come to town! I'm picturing 09' all over again!

I also love the versatility from our DBs' Like Skrine can play inside or Outside and new SS in Gilchrist can play nickelback or Strong Safety.

Rex is legit like are you F'N kidding me?!!?!?!?! LOL.

Hopefully Coples can have his balls finally drop and hit double digit sacks. He did have 6.5 last year but very quit 6.5 if you ask me....

I'm just pissed we didnt get Mike Iupati, Instead got James Carpenter, who is a solid Guard but not Iupati.

Carpenter is monster in run blocking but weaker in pass protection....

Reports were that we told Iupati basically you will be the highest payed OG in NFL history. And he wasnt interested instead went to ARZ for much less. Pretty mehhh....

Plus as for NE having space next year. Brady window is literally like 1 more year IMO. So IDK what BB is thinking....

Honest question...

Do NE fans have the balls to boo Revis when he comes back to Foxboro?

Im stil shoicked we got him. it just didnt seem like it would ever happen when we traded him.....LOL to TB we now got Revis 2 years later and we got arguably one of the best Dlinemen in the NFL in Sheldon Richardson.....Its too funny. Hes unblockable. I remeber the week 16 game Sheldon wsa all over the field, one of his best games. He owned the NE Oline.

But I thought he would be a Pat for rest of career. Im still stunned hes back with us. I m,ean wquirte hoenstly he should of never been in Ne. We should of locked him up but then we;'d ebnver have Sheldon so its too weird....

He never loooked right in NE jersey....So glad hes back. Hes gonna be elite for next 2 maybe 3 years. So happy. Hes our baby and just to see him get traded by Aidzik like that was so upsetting 2 years ago.

Doubt New England would ever give a player 39 fully guaranteed. Don't think they should.

Sorry that meant letting a once in a generation type CB walk, but thems the breaks. Thanks for the rangz, Revis.

Traids, to answer your question from earlier. All of the people I know with season tickets have said they plan to clap him when he comes to Foxboro. Haven't really talked to anyone that thinks it's Revis's fault he's no longer a Patriot.

Salva the terms were met you lying piece of ****, go whine to Felger with the rest of the underachieving shut ins for a month and then come back in April. Or better yet, don't, since you are an entitled piece of **** without two brain cells to rub together.

It's almost like the Pats will need cap space for a left tackle and player extensions in 16 and beyond and still plan to have a franchise when Brady leaves

I already told you. The only way to match what the Jets gave Revis was to:

1) Spend the majority of this year's available cap space, including what they gained by cutting Wilfork, and a lot of next year's cap space on Revis

2) Move a lot of dead money to future years

If they did the first one, they have to compromise a lot on who they can bring in and who they can retain in the near term. The second choice is how teams end up like this year's Saints and Cowboys.

Either choice is a large risk for a player who is almost 30 y/o. Look at how much Mayo's contract is hampering them at the moment because they cannot easily cut him without a lot of dead money. The Revis contract would be much worse should he get injured or become ineffective.

"I'm not going to speak on the numbers," he said. "I think the biggest decision for me was to just come back home. I have a lot of history with the Jets' organization and I just felt like it was, you know, a no-brainer to come home, be back home and make a marriage."

"They drafted me and I have a lot of history here," said Revis. "I love being around the people I met in the organization. I just have a lot of ties here. This is where my heart is."
Now obviously he's going to say something positive about going to the Jets again, but I have no doubt whatsoever that Patriots would have had to exceed what the Jets offered for this reason.

Balls to boo? Hopefully the majority have too much class to boo him, but you never know.

I wouldn't congratulate the Jets too much. Had they been willing to trade a late pick last year, they would have locked up Revis for the same price they're currently paying, while retaining the ability to cut him at any time with no dead money. Now if he gets hurt or loses it you have a problem. Although due to all the open cap space the Jets were able to structure it so they only have a big risk the first 2 years and no risk after 3.

The Pats couldn't bring him in on the Tampa deal because they didn't have the space last year or this year to do it without converting salary to bonus and moving dead money to future years.

Let's not derail the thread all the time. No Jets talk really needed most of the time and you can make your points without personal snark directed at others. Please tone it down.

Yeah Im starting to come around that once the option wasnt picked up, Revis was a goner. I bought into the whole "He will take less to stay with the Pats" story but now i feel that all things being equal he would have picked the Jets and living in New York.

Sports Radio hosts have been piling on all week about how the Pats could have matched the $39m but I dont think the final figure ends up anything close to $39m if the Pats actually engaged in a bidding war with the Jets.

your judgment is poor.

if Revis signed for the pats at that price it would be amazing

Is Brandon Gibson gonna be the only FA WR NE signs?

Would NE offense not be incredibly more dynamic with a solid #1 WR who is over 5'8? Obv Gronk is the true #1 but he's still a TE

I know LaFell played well last year but think that's less to do with his skills and more to do with that offense/QB.

If you are NE all three of your star receiving threats have a high probability of missing significant playing time next year (injury history/concussion history).
