Hey Pat fans, how did Brace do for you guys overall last year? Did he show enough to let Wilfork go or are you gonna franchise him. Just askin because I wanted him last year for the Jets and it killed me when you picked hm.

He was inactive for 14 games. I'm thinking Wilfork either gets a contract or is franchised.

Defensive coordinator Dean Pees is not coming back next year.

ESPN.com- Pees: I'm not renewing contract

The Patriots gave up the fifth fewest points this year.

Does it feel like the Pats had the fifth best defense in the league?

FO says 17th best, 13th best if you time-weight recent results.

I don't think he can really be blamed too much for the defense's problems.

They weren't even close to the 5th best defense. A big factor to them not giving up many points was outstanding field position and running good in the red zone.

Continuing the Notre Dame - Pats exchange, Belichek hired Corwin Brown as DBs coach. However some Irate Irish fans are not well-wishers, due to the fact they play technically in the same state as the Colts.

Speaking of bitterness, the NFL network in the poker room made me relive the 2006 AFC game debacle, did people remember a horrible non call in the endzone on the Pats 2nd to last drive?

when benjamin watson crushed champ bailey near the pylon on that INT return and it was obviously a touchback?

Patriots' 2010 schedule is brutal. the AFC east is becoming a really tough division, and the patriots will be playing the colts, ravens, chargers, steelers, vikings, packers.

I'm really worried about Brady's health. He was nowhere near 100% this year. And the patriots have 3 second round draft picks, which they have to use wisely. They badly need some defensive ends and outside linebackers.

That's not all:

The Patriots have not named an offensive coordinator. If they do, it would almost certainly be quarterbacks coach Bill O'Brien, who handled much of the play-calling duties in 2009 when the team went without an official coordinator. Belichick's comments Friday positioned O'Brien as the leader of the offensive staff.
