This. The D was really okay aside from the 80-yard TD run.

Special teams were as awful as I've ever seen.

Losing top coaches every year and the gm this year has finally caught up. I can't name one quality coach or front office person in the organization. Belichick can't do it all himself.

kind of an overstatemnet, Dante Scarnecheccia is a good oline coach but the team really lacks a quality coordinator on both sides of the ball. Seely left this year too, wonder if that's why special teams were so bad.

while I agree offseason moves need to be made (namely, passrush), you CAN'T question the pats in terms of how they handle the draft, every single team/coach/analyst/expert has consistently pointed to the pats as the best drafting org. in the league

harbaugh, in his postgame conference, just alluded to this btw, saying the pats do "amazing" in the draft and the ravens model themselves after Bill, etc.

butler = going to be a stud
vollmer = going to be a stud
edelman = going to be a stud
pryor = will be very good, already played quite a bit on the DL, adds great depth
tate = will be very good, very explosive and also returns punts/kicks
chung = will be very good and adds great depth to a young secondary

basically, the D as a whole is very young and will be VERY good in a few years, but the O is only getting older, Moss will be 33, and so will Tom, soooooo

I really didn't feel good all day today. REALLY sucks to have to wait 9 months for football again. Debo, I don't blame you for your post, but believe I won't be holding back now when the jets get spanked by the bolts next week. Go bolts and ravens!!!!

Butler = serviceable hopefully
Volmer = stud
Edelmen = looks good in short spurts but seems to dinged easily
pryor = backup
tate = cant get on the field, injured
chung = haven't shown much at all

They really haven't drafted well in the last few years if you want to be objective.

you're just being a complete pessimist right now, which is understandable after such a big loss, but honestly most of those guys are/already are very good

basically, wait and see what Bill does in the offseason considering he has so many draft picks (carrots) to work with

do you think we're gonna dump moss in the offseason?

he kinda looks like he doesn't care at all anymore :/

yeah, you didn't exactly. no one's mad at you, it was just a controversial view on the subject, esp at that time (when there was a visible schism between pessimistic fans and optimistic fans who fought that the pats had a legit shot at the SB this year).

now that the season's over, i think the moss situation can be discussed in a more neutral light.

i really don't wanna see him go, but he is getting old, and i just don't know whether or not to have confidence in him making an effort every game (if we're making a SB run next year, which we hopefully are)

Richard Vershaun Seymour was dearly missed today.....

The thing with Moss, at his age, is that he isn't that valuable later in the season when physically he is probably not 100% and weather conditions dimishes his value. So by the time we get to the playoff season, we have to kind of reinvent the offense because he isn't that big a part of it anymore. This happened even in 2007 if you rememeber.

Oh well, they likely weren't doing anything past this game. It's almost time for baseball season!

Thing is, the Pats were on the right side of variance for many years. They've been on the wrong side of it recently. They were probably the 4th best team in the AFC, and it's a disappointing end to the season, but the Pats are the best run team in football, imo, and there's plenty to look forward to for next season.
