And Happy 60th Birthday to BB... GOAT

How many more years do you guys think he has left in him? I didn't think he was that old already, so it makes sense that he could possibly hang it up when TB retires in like 4 years (depending on their success in those years). He said on "A Football Life" that he doesn't see himself coaching into his 70's.

Looks like a relatively easy schedule.

Anyone who volunteers for this London nonsense DESERVES an easy schedule.

How do we NOT win 12-14 of those games? @BAL will be tough, Peyton might give us a scare at home...and we demolish everyone else.

That is a super easy schedule. Only 3 Non division games that look challenging.

Grrr, missed it by half a point. And I was leaning that way, too.

In the words of Ralph Malph, "I still got it."

I love the Pats-Jets on Thanksgiving. Half of the die-hard Jets season-ticket holders will have to miss their most anticipated home game of the season due to family obligations/travel issues, and Rex will have to miss out on his late-night turkey leg.

Also, interesting to only play that string of three 4pm games and that's it. We played literally half of our season at 4pm last year.

its not about giving the pats the hometown discount anymore, theyre just some penny pinchers in every way possible.

Until very recently they had the highest paid QB, Guard, and NT in the NFL.

The Patriots very astutely know that you can't win in the NFL longterm without depth on your roster. So they wisely try to not put all their eggs in one basket but rather spread it around the roster. I assume, like most teams they spend to the cap.

Well the year they lost their hall of fame qb in the first game and threw in a guy that hadn't started game since high school, they were more than respectable.

If Gronk maintains his level of production and health, the Pats will open the checkbook and make him the highest paid TE ever. The Pats pay for slam-dunk premium talent, they're just more wary of overpaying above-average players who want to get paid like superstars. It will be interesting to see how the Welker situation plays out, he should get paid, but they are obviously concerned about him being on the wrong side of 30.

Matt Light is retired. The Patriots placed him on the reserved/retirement list.

I'm a little surprised even though there were rumors. He played well enough last year that I would have liked to see him return.

Welker signed his tender today. He'll get $9.5 million. They may still work out a long term deal.

This means Welker will be at workouts. We're a happy family again.

Any thoughts on their draft? I was pretty excited by their 2 early picks, and a bit baffled by a few later choices. (Or maybe conditioned to be baffled, since I don't know nearly enough about who is likely to go where without the Kipper's of the world telling me.)

In any case, glad they went heavy on D. Hope the gamble with the 7th round corner pans out.

OchoCinco....GONE!

When you lose the title by less than a TD, you know the game could've gone either way, and you agonize over little things that could have changed the outcome. Replacing 85 with ANYBODY will be an improvement, even if only a tiny one, will be welcome.

I had this argument with my cousin. I say if Kiper calls a kid a 6th-rounder and BB thinks he's a 3rd-rounder, I'm siding with BB each and every time.

85 had no chance of making the team. The Patriots reloaded at WR and BB did him a favor by releasing early but I don't realy see anybody picking him up. BB got a little sentimental (I think he really likes the kid) by keeping him all season. But they were thin at the position and had a lot of dough tied up with him (I think he may have been the highest paid receiver).

But I have no animosity towards the guy, as it seems he tried hard to be a good teammate. Team should be even more formidible than last year as they have plugged some holes and have another easy schedule.

Belichick is having fun.

The Patriots claimed TE Jake Ballard of waivers from the Giants.

Tom Coughlin isn't happy about it.

Ballard is injured and will spend the entire 2012 season in injured reserve. He's expected to be ready for 2013.
