Ok to be quite honest, I'm actually very pessimistic about this upcoming game. I mean I'm fired up about it no doubt. I think Michigan and Nebraska is gonna naturally blossom into a great rivalry over time. We're in the same division after all, and more times than not in the future, the winner of this game will end up in the big ten championship game. And although that's not true this year, both sides are still playing to keep their chances of a BCS bowl berth alive. So this game is freaking HUGE. I feel like Michigan is playing two Ohio State games over these next two weeks!
But that said, I'm pessimistic because, well, Michigan is really not that good right now. Every time we play a team that's decent, with the weird exception of Notre Dame (conveniently defining decent as a team that's better than Illinois, so teams like Michigan state, Penn State, etc), we lose. I have not watched much of Nebraska this year, but I'm assuming you guys are at the scary decent level and I'm also assuming that Michigan is still not ready to compete at that level (I'm hoping I'm wrong). So with that said, I think NEB +3.5 is a total lock, but I'm not betting on it cause I just can't do it emotionally. My predicted final score (being serious now, unlike my prediction in the Michigan thread) is: NEB 27 Michigan 17.
Anyways, ever since the moment I found out NEB has joined the big ten, I have been looking forward to this game. NEB joining the big ten was an awesome moment for me. It was like finding out Michigan just picked up four 5 star recruits or something. To me, perhaps the greatest tragedy in college sports (just talking bout the game, excluding stuff like kids getting Sanduskied) is the death of the NEB-Oklahoma rivalry. I guess I'm hoping that over time the Michigan-Nebraska game can blossom into something special that helps alleviate that great loss.
