**** Scott Frost

curious why?
not proven?
not high profile enough?

By getting rid of SE now, it gives the new AD (assuming one gets hired soon) plenty of time to do a coaching search (also assuming Riley gets fired at the end of the year.)

I'd be okay with Frost. He's unproven as a head coach, but has potential. If not Frost, they need to go after a very successful non-P5 coach. I don't want another retread.

No matter who it is though, we're going to have to be patient.

Every single Nebraska dudebro is screaming Scott Frost....but if that guy hadn't played for Nebraska, nobody would be giving him a single look. OC for some Oregon teams looooaaaaded with talent, and no success in a very short HC career. Does he have potential? Maybe, but who knows

UCF's next 2 games are vs. Maryland and Memphis. He wins those two then we can start talking a little bit

He's a pure winner who would probably sell his soul to bring Nebraska back to relevancy. I hope to god Nebraska somehow ****s this up....again. The conference already has too many strong teams. If Nebraska gets him everybody in the B1G West should be scared ****less and winning the B1G title will be tougher for everybody. Plz god **** this up....again.

Scott Frost is an option, just have to see how the season plays out. I mean we aren't good, but definitely not a total dumpster fire.

Real glad to see SE go. If Riley makes a bowl game he gets another year.

Also people are so ****ing dumb regarding Pelini. The guy recruited and started a convicted rapist. There is a reason why he's gone.

And Solich should not have been fired, but if he was some great coach I'm guessing you wouldn't see him at Ohio.

It comes down to how much we want to pay for coaching and recruiting

Lately, it's been 2.5-3M. That's not at all competitive in 2017, and you get what you pay for.

Recruiting is way way better under Riley, and Callahan had a top 5 class.

Nebraska can routinely pull in top 15 classes AINEC. Getting into the top 5 takes having a shot at a national championship.

Scott Frost watch:

Beat previously undefeated Maryland on the road 38-10. UCF has a big game against Memphis next week

I flipped over to that game a couple of times and UFC looks pretty good. They've got some good players on defense and the offense is solid.

I wonder how long Riley is going to stick with Lee. After all that hype, it turns out he really sucks. He can make some nice passes, but his fundamentals are terrible. He throws off his back foot a lot, stares down receivers, and makes bad decisions. At least Tommy Armstrong could get out and run occasionally.

At the worst right now, I see UCF going 10-2. For a team that did't win a game 2 years ago, that's quite an accomplishment.

I wanted to see what Frost could do before thinking about Nebraska hiring him, but he's shown ability as a head coach. He's going to be at the top of a lot of coaching searches after this year. If we don't snap him up, we may not get him at all.

Him being an alum isn't the reason I want him as coach, but is the reason I could see him here long term. If he's successful, he's not going to be leaving for another school and I can't see him going to the NFL.

UCF plays with a level of aggression and intensity I haven't seen from Nebraska in years.

Riley is a great person and a good coach, but he's 63 and was a bad hire. I am not on the FIRE RILEY WAGON but this year and next year are going to be real tough.

If we play lights out and he earns another chance he should stay. But being competitive in the west means beating Wisconsin and Iowa.

The performances this year give me no confidence in Riley. He got a pass the first year and last year was an improvement, but I think we'll be lucky to get to .500 this year.

The next couple of weeks are going to determine Riley's fate. If we're not competitive and get blown out, he's done.

re: Frost
Played for Bill Walsh, Tom Osborne, Bill Parcells, Bill Belichick, and Jon Gruden
coached under #2 Chip Kelly
he's had more opportunity and exposure to great coaching minds than most.

Scott Frost is Nebraska's Harbaugh. That's been obvious for years. Can't believe this is just sinking in now. Nebraska people are....not bright. Kinda remind me of Michigan State fans.

History will judge Nebraska picking Riley over Frost more harshly than Lions drafting Terry Fair over Randy Moss. At least Terry Fair wasn't over 60.
