Wow! I missed the announcement Miles was fired. Most of my news feed has been filled with flooding.
Nebraska is going to get good at basketball. The only drawback is if the ISU job becomes open, I could see him heading back.
I always thought Hoiberg made a huge mistake by going to Chicago. He could have coached as long as he wanted at ISU and would have eventually been in the top tier of college coaches.
Well that was a disappointing game to cap off a disappointing season.
I made my usual Black Friday trip to Lincoln to see the battle for the Hero's Trophy (facepalm.jpg). My cousin's friend scored me some great seats 24 rows up on the 40 yard line. A great vantage point to watch some shitty football. Unlike the last game I attended two years ago where the Huskers just quit on Mike Reilly after falling behind early, this years team sacked up in the second half and made a game of it. Unfortunately, Taylor Adrian Martinez demonstrated his terrible decision making by running out of bounds, allowing Iowa to call timeout on the next play and leaving them enough time to drive for a game winning FG. **** me...
Next year better be wide open competition for the QB position. Martinez is talented, but his decision making is terrible. And after being injured earlier in the year, he seemed to be running tentatively. I wish they'd have given McCaffrey more opportunities to show what he could do.
I'm not terribly impressed with Frost after two years. I wasn't expecting to win the conference, just some solid improvement over last year. I though Frost was recruiting well, but there wasn't much depth this year. No consistency on either side of the ball, and special teams was awful.
