comparing anything to red sox-yanks is silly, it's an interdivision rivalry and a pretty big one at that though.

i meant to compare them relatively, like are the biggest divisional rivals or would Bears be bigger

It's big because of how beloved Favre is in Wisconsin. The Vikings and Bears have always been huge rivals with the Packers so it's a pretty treasonous act Favre is committing here. I guarantee Favre will get booed heavily at Lambeau when he returns.

Its really regional. West of Madison Vikings/Packers is a huge rivalry. In Eastern WI I think Bears/Packers is bigger.

What makes it big for Vikings fans is that there are a ton of Packers fans in the Twin Cities.

The Packers are the Vikings biggest rival, and its not close. But I think the Bears are the Packers biggest rival, and its only marginally closer.

The Packers are the Vikings biggest rival by far. However the Packers happen to have an equally large, probably bigger rivalry w/ Chicago. Correct me if I'm wrong Packer fans.

You are correct, but Favre going to the Vikes puts them at number 1 imo.

berrian will turn 29 this season and has never had a 1000 yard season. but yeah, he's totally gonna be elite in a couple years when he starts losing his speed, which is pretty much the only thing he has going for him

Chad "the hutch" Hutchinson
Sexy RExy
Kyle Orton
Gus Ferrotte
Kreg Krenzel
Tavaris Jackson
Brian Griese

While I don't agree with elite potential a couple of 900+ yard 6 TD seasons is good production with that crapola wobbling the ball to him. An average (or a below average/good arm qb like DA) would probably give BB a couple of 1,200 8-10TD seasons.

I am from Green Bay and honestly I would love to see Favre play for the Vikes. The Green Bay defense will get fired up and Favre will have to leave on a stretcher. Plus IIRC GB/Minn has a MNF game which would pretty much be the highest rated MNF game ever. Like it would be an event on par with the Super Bowl (at least in this part of the country). What football fan wouldn't want to see that? As much as I hate him for what he's doing the truth is there just wasn't a good solution - Rodgers was too good and already promised the job, and TT did not want to lose the guy. Let the man do what he wants. I don't think Favre is washed up - remember his 2007 season? I have to admit that with him the Vikes are really favored to win the division. But we will win the Favre game

Berrian isn't very good. He's a good #2, who's playing #1 for the Vikes.

my LIMITED understanding/interpretation of brett favre and his ability

he was doing well, having a good year the he hurt his arm and FAVRE fashion still played hurt

while playing hurt he was terribad, but they didn't bench him cus he's brett favre

so looking onto next season... if his arm injury wasn't too serious/healed, he should still be pretty good?

He'll still be FAVRE better than any QB on the Vikings roster, at least until his right arm falls off.

Packers - Bears is the bigger rivalry, but the rivalry with the Vikings is still pretty big.

There are still a lot of Favre supporters in Wisconsin, and we aren't going to suddenly hate him because he still wants to play football, it's not like playing for Green Bay again is an option for him. If he wants to sign with the Vikings, good for him and I wish him well, but of course I'll still be rooting for the Packers when they meet up.

I would lose a lot of respect for any green bay fan that boo's him in lambeau.

he was ok before getting hurt. most of the jets doing well was running the football and playing good defense.

but then down the stretch mangini decided he wanted to blitz as little as possible, make sure to run the ball less than 20 times/game, while letting #4 throw to the extent of his hearts desire

I meant below average as in a little bit below average, not below average- would be cut by some CFL teams below average.
