Sapp deserves more credit imo

Sapp is a knucklehead and a bad tackler. We seriously needed CB help.

Has anyone heard how Winfield & Griffin are recovering so far? We still might need another CB if neither of those guys is going to be 100%.

I think there is still a good chance we take McCourtry or Kareem Jackson in the first round.

I'm hoping for this (though replacing Herrera would be nice too). Also Winfield needs to be a gd safety damnit, when will people listen?

no. up until he got hurt winfield was an outstanding corner in this defense. i have no idea how good he'd be at safety, but why fix what ain't broke?

I hope we take McCourty/Jackson in the first, best OL available in the second, and CB Amari Spievey from Iowa in the third

Replacing Herrera and Sullivan too would be nice. And McKinney too. His foot problems are going to be an issue imo. He had all kinds of other issues before the foot problems as well.

We're really weak at safety too. Johnson is worthless and Madieu is below average. Maybe Sanford can play, but we really dont know yet.

As good of a team as we have, there are plenty of holes to fill.

I would like to replace McKinnie in the same way I would like to replace Sidney Rice with Larry Fitzgerald. Realistically the only person available who might be better than him is Gaither.

I will be ecstatic if Claussen drops to us.

Edit: There are all sorts of potential Claussen:Rodgers Bradford:Smith parallels if he drops.

Gaither/Hutch/Sulli/McKinnie/Loadholt = sexy. Draft some interior linemens.

I don't really like Winfield at S. I'm not too worried about him next season. Him getting exposed after he came back was, I think, only partially about him being still injured. He has never excelled in 1v1 man and they were asking him to do that way too much.

Johnson sucks at run defense but must be decent in coverage or I don't see how he kept getting PT. I'd love to see more Jamarca.

AH could take Phat Pat's spot after he retires this season. Plus the Williams' still could get suspended for 4 games this year. They may be shopping Edwards. Doesn't seem that unreasonable if you look at it that way.

Two problems with the Rice/McKinnie comparison

- Rice is healthy. McKinnie has plantar fasciitis in both feet.
- Rice plays well every play. McKinnie lacks focus.

I'm not sure I want a QB in the 1st round. I want someone who is going to help the team a lot this year. I might change my mind in a couple/few years if Clausen turns out to be a great pro QB, but we have a great shot to win it all as long as Favre plays here. I'm pretty sure he'll be back this year and possibly next. Any rookie QB will not help us win this year. fwiw, I'm hearing Clausen will likely be available for us at 30.


I'm pretty sure there isnt anything to the Haynesworth rumors.

That's a pretty nice haul.

We got a 4th and a 7th to drop down 4 spots? With Clausen and Mays still on the board and the Colts/Saints/Rams ahead of us? Did we really potentially just get a free 4th and 7th round pick?

I don't know if there's anywhere right now to verify that.
