Just stay as far away as you possibly can. The Vikings will regret this move if it is made.

This just in: Green Bay Packers punter Jeremy Kapinos will wear #4 for the 2009-10 season.

this would make sense if they had a better QB on their roster.
They don't.

Best case scenario...Farve helps them enough to get to the playoffs...play actions a bunch and hucks it deep to Percy.

Worst case: The expectations are high...Farve sucks....Vikings miss the playoffs....Chilly is fired. Minni signs Shanahan, drafts a QB in the first round.

Seems like a win-win for Viking fans imo

i dont know why vikes fans would want favre. sage rosenfels is better than gus was last year and t jack made big strides the last four games of the regular season.

the bigger problem is childress' inability to coach. with a young quarterback you have to put him in situations where he can succeed(joe flacco/matt ryan) and childress couldnt do that last year.

with the offense the vikes have, they would do much worse with brett favre on their team imo. they need a quarterback that can make some plays, control the clock, and not turn the ball over so that run game can pound defenses.

when your best option is a running back(best in the league obv) the last thing you want to do is turn the ball over and negate that ability. the best thing about favre previously was his arm but if he has a tear in his shoulder, how effective can he be?

Oh please let this happen. Watching people fall all over themselves bitching about it - including most in this forum - is free entertainment. And I can't afford the more expensive stuff so this is what I'm reduced to.

I'm rooting for it in a way because the NFC North would be all drama all the time. I already hate the Bears and Vikings more because of this offseason. Starting to like the Packers more though.

So true that the Vikes really dont have a better QB on the roster, assuming Favre's arm is ok, which is a big assumption.

I've seen enough of TJ for one lifetime. Nothing he's shown has convinced me he has a >0 chance of being a productive starter for a team that can contend. Ever. Watching him throw long passes is painful. Scud missiles are more accurate.

Sage might be the best answer at this point now that we pissed away the chance to get Cutler, but if Favre's arm is ok, why not take a shot?

Best case is better than just making the playoffs imo, but I'm sure Chilly will do everything in his power to **** something up.

Your worst case actually doesn't sound bad at all. Add the irritation factor of the Packers fans, and I think this could be fun to see.

because the Jets did, and he failed miserably.

You're right the Jets had more talent surrounding him and he failed hard.

from rotoworld:

Citing sources close to free agent Brett Favre, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that Favre signing with Minnesota is far from a done deal due to a "significant tear" in his right biceps tendon.
The Journal Sentinel calls the health of Favre's throwing arm "likely...the determining factor." Favre's injury has reportedly improved little since last year. His options are playing hurt -- which Favre did ineffectively in 2008 -- or having arthroscopic surgery that would sideline him until training camp. The Vikings play just one cold-weather game in 2009, which helps, but Favre might balk if they tell him to fix the injury. He's never been a fan of surgery. May. 5 - 11:43 pm et

When healthy and not hiding/playing through elbow injuries, Favre is much better than TJax.

Winning cures all and so long as that happens, Favre's drama queen antics will be ignored or downplayed.

Quite frankly, I think Favre is a dick and most of the people here agree with me. However, many Packer fans still love him and going this far to screw them and piss them off is petty and immature. Leave with some sort of legacy for Christ's sake. Go on athlete welfare (broadcasting/talking head) and enjoy the rest of your life.

Lifelong Packers fan, and still a Favre fan. Having said that though, I have seen him play when he's extra pumped to beat a team. It usually ends with 5 picks. So ship the two free wins against the Vikes next year if Favre is there. Plus, 8 of his 10 worst bed ****tings took place in the dome.
