Favre looks to be a pretty darn good game manager.

Shiancoe made some impressive catches.

Harvin will be awesome once he stops making mistakes.

Run blocking rocks....pass blocking..........not so much.

Defense looks even more solid than I thought.

Our receivers as a whole are absolutely horrible.

+1, it's going to be a long season if nobody except Shiancoe steps up

remember when shiancoe was horrible? like not quite troy williamson horrible, but worse than jake reed at the end of his career when he had that horrible spell? it's nice that he's pretty good now.

Yes, wtf was this all about. He's got the best hands on the team now lol. Favre always gets his tight ends involved I think he's going to be a key player all year.

It's really bizarre, the drugs I'm on make me really tired and then I'm like unable to form sentences and totally incapable of typing. I need like multiple naps a day.

Shiancoe really turned a corner last season. I still don't see how anyone took much good away from Favre's play last night. He really didn't _do_ anything. Sure he looked capable of "managing" the game, but TJack did that and much more a week ago so maybe my expectations are too high for Favre or something.

Shank dog went from least favorite to one of my favorites after he showed the world what he's packing. Clearly affected his confidence. Pro bowl, baby.

SL, I took this from the preseason thread cuz I figured u were more likely to see it here. Honestly I think your a pretty good vikes poster but my Dad who's pretty much the avg dumb nfl fan who knows about 10 players on his own team was able to understand that TJax last week was a bad performance that resulted in good stats and not a good performance. Earlier in this thread you nitpick Favre throwing one up for Jaymar which was indeed a pretty bad pass, but still TJax makes about 1 "getting sacked ball hanging from 3 fingers, arm totally outstretched and eventually just kinda flails it away" plays a game. He's running hot but on avg that's gonna be a fumble / pick 50% of the time and far dumber than anything Favre has done in a Vikes uniform yet.

Uhh, no. You might not be able to take anything away from the games in terms of projectability but TJack played really well last week, any way you look at it. Spread the ball around, got the ball to WRs (not just dumpoffs + Shiancoe) and did it playing with the first team, second team and even some third team guys. Did you watch?

If he can continue to play like that, he might make an adequate backup for some team someday.

Favre getting benched for poor play and ending his consecutive game streak before breaking Jim Marshall's record would make me so happy.

Spoken like a true Packer hater This would be almost as entertaining as watching the Vikes win it all. You should live in Minnesota & experience what its like to live amongst Packer fans who couldn't find jobs in Wisconsin.

ya I watched, and I saw that he made a nice throw to Reynauld and not much else. He was still slow with reading his coverage, and still too timid to step up into the pocket to make a throw. Even his pass to Shank was too late, Shank was wide open a few seconds before.

Uh, he was 12-15.

Stuff like this doesn't make sense to point out. You could say that about all 3 passes from Favre -> Shiancoe (including the one that was called back for holding or whatever).

TJack didn't play like an NFL starter. He played well for TJack but he still threw off his back foot, was still hesitant to step up into the pocket, held onto the ball too long. Sage in the colts game played better than TJack in the Chiefs game. You can't really look at the stats when your judging half a preseason game. Anybody can have good statistical games in the regular season, when your watching the game, actually watch and evalute how they're playing, are they looking at more than one read. Are they making quick decisions, getting rid of the ball, hitting the WR in stride. That's the kind of stuff that translates to long term success, not throwing off your back foot on the run.

Fine, I think you are seeing things that aren't there and missing things that are. Favre is famous for never setting his feet, yet you are complaining about TJack throwing off his back foot when he def. has a bigger arm then 40yo Favre.

As for quick decisions, you can't tell at all what is going on from watching on TV because you usually don't see what is happening down field.

I'm all for Favre starting, but I'm just saying he really looks 40 and TJack looks 26.

Please don't accuse me of not knowing how to watch a football game.

this phrase was the dumbest phrase known to man BEFORE it became associated with the election and every republican, tv news anchor, and ignorant redneck was saying it.

do you even know what it originally meant?

OMG plz don't trade/cut T-Jack. JDB is absolutely worthless. Favre is not a lock to be healthy all season. This is madness.

Odds on finding a sucker,eh, I mean a taker, for TJ in a trade?

<50% imo.

I think TJack would be gone by now if we had a decent offer. I think we should cut JDB and keep TJack at #3.

I mean he can't have much/any trade value. Cutting JDB seems pretty obvious to me.

jd booty sucks and will never be worth anything. i wouldn't mind keeping TJ as a #3 except that it might mean they give him another chance after favre retires

First of all I think we're gonna be stuck w/ Chilly untill his contract is up after next season.

09 - Favre
10 - Sage
------------Chilly is not resigned. New HC drafts 1st round QB
11 - Sage [rookie on bench]
------------Sage's contract is up
12 - the rookie

I don't think TJack will get a shot after this season, he is a RFA so we'll prob still have him tho.
