i thought he played well. in fact, i can't think of a single glaring error he made all half. he didn't do anything spectacular, but he consistently made quick, good decisions and gave guys chances to make plays.

He threw the ball up for grabs once, safety only one with a shot at it. Took at least one unnecessary sack (Mario from RE around to LE).

He didn't do anything except dump the ball to Chester once and hand the ball to Peterson a bunch. Shiancoe made some really nice plays in the passing game.

Looked like Frerotte/Johnson 3.0 in that half to me.

Aren't you forgetting the perfect pass he made that was dropped in the end zone? He had a pretty good half. If all you can fault him for is taking one sack you don't think he should have been sacked on, and one near pick, do you honestly think sage or tjax would have had a better half?

Texas' secondary doesn't look either.

Where he overthrew the fastest guy on the team? No? Close, good read, good throw, incomplete.

To me, it looked like the guy (Harvin?) slowed down a bit and had the ball go off his fingertips.

You're still resting your case on him doing anything on an incomplete. Dan Orlovsky > Favre so far <3 AJ.

If people can nitpick on every little negative, why can't it go both ways?

I'm saying he hasn't shown me anything. Willie said he saw no mistakes and pointed out two glaring ones I saw.

All our QBs are efficient at hitting checkdowns and Shiancoe. I want to see him doing a little more than that. Jackson got the receivers more involved last week then Favre this week.

how do you know it was an unnecessary sack? what's he supposed to do if no one's open but someone might have been if he had another 0.7 sec?

also, passing is like half of QBing. I'm no QB expert but it seems to me like favre is way better at making decisions, leading team, not fumbling, snap count etc

oh and he's also way better at passing imo but i don't really know and can't prove it

He held the ball for like a full three seconds or so. That is always unnecessary.

He did show some really good pocket presence earlier.

you didn't answer my question. what's he supposed to do if no one's open? are you claiming someone will always be open with 3 sec? because i don't believe you.

wait, is he still playing? because i left the room at the half. i can hear it in the background kind of but i thought he was out

Yeah I think he's prob. done now though.

Throw the ball away. Sack is 2nd worst possible outcome. It was one of two glaringly bad plays I saw. You just said you didn't see any.

i disagree that throwing it away is always better. he might have had a guy who was about to get wide open for a big gain and he might have gotten it to him with another split second. it that case, it's worth risking the sack.

obviously, i don't know if this was the case on this play, but neither do you.

also i didn't see the near-interception. are you talking about the one where he overthrew everyone by like 5 yds and the safety was closest?

(or maybe the one you were talking about was in the second half)

Yeah the one where took like a two step drop, read blitz and threw it up to 6-0 Jaymar Johnson and the safety was the closest to it. Maybe a good throw away, maybe got lucky on an overthrow.

I'm done for tonight. Medication + tired = posting difficult. Like really this took like 5 minutes to write.

He left receivers out to dry a few times but whatever. He played fine, better than I expected. Game-manager Favre is actually pretty sick in this offense, I think. TOs are just sooooo costly.

Favre was solid. Much more so than any QB we've had here in a long time. He just knows what to do so much better than our other QBs. He does all the little things well, and his arm looks strong. Its going to be a fun season imo.
