as a life long Jets fan... STAY AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE FROM THIS POISON.

If his answer was an emphatic "NO" he wouldn't be meeting with Brad Childress. He would have already signed a 1 day contract with the Packers and retired as a Packer. Once that happens, he is not officially retired. And even if that happens, he is not officially retired. Brett Favre is a joke and a sell out.

This guy is a joke. I know big egos aren't uncommon among pro athletes but he's showing his off big time. He never cared about the Packers, he never gave a damn about his teammates, never gave a damn about the Jets, and he doesn't give a damn about the Vikings. This whole thing is and has always been about him. The fact that the media is so obsessed with him (ESPN should have their own f'ing Farve channel) just pisses me off more.

Him going to the Vikings is so transparently petty and spiteful. Kinda immature for a 40 year old dude.

Has anyone done more to tarnish a hall of fame legacy in as short a period of time as Farve?

Well, other than O.J.

Let's put it this way Vikings fans, if Favre were to sign with the Vikings the top 5 QBs in the NFC North would be:

1. Rodgers
2. Cutler
3. Stafford
4. Matt Flynn
5. Tavaris Jackson

I don't see what the Vikings have to lose with this move. Worst case scenario we miss the playoffs, Favre retires, and Childress finally gets canned. It's totally win/win.
The Vikings D>>>>>>>Jets D last year. Vikings offensive weapons>>>>>>>Jets last year. Vikings offensive line>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Jets O-line last year. And looking at the Vikings' schedule, its interesting that he will only be playing 1 real cold weather game, Monday Night 12/28 @ Chicago. The only other 2 road games after their bye week (week 9) is @ Arizona and @ Carolina. The game @ GB is week 8, right before the bye. Also, the first 5 games are: @ CLE, @ DET, SF, GB (MNF), @ STL. Not exactly a tough start to the season, good for him with not wanting to do anything until at least training camp. I think he looked at this schedule and said "wow, I couldn't imagine a better schedule for me. Let me call up Childress and see what he thinks..."

I doubt it happens or that there is anything to this. Nevertheless, this sums up my feelings:

I'd take TJacks left ballsack over Matt Flynn. Dude was a lame excuse for a college QB, surprised he made an NFL roster.

Favre is a headcase, no chemistry, etc, etc. I'm pretty indifferent but will become very fairweather with him if we do get him.

FWIW I think Sage can be competent, I think Favre can too but I also can see Favre bing a dumb **** and a cancer in the lockeroom. I also can see Sage trying to imitate a helicopter. And I can also see Chilldress ****ing it up even if Manning was our QB. So who gives a ****, we're not winning w/ Chilldress anyways so might as well crush some Packer fan's dreams by seeing their hero play for the bad guys.

I'd have been depressed seeing Favre in a Viking uniform last year.

Now.. I dunno, it'd be weird, but I think he'd go off for like 11 INTs in the 2 games against GB trying to be a badass. I don't think he's a viable QB anymore, at least not for a full season.

I gotta say this. Years ago when the first heart-tugging rumors of dear Brett retiring were reported, I made the comment that it was ridiculous and he would, in the end, have the most obnoxious "retirement" dramatics in history. This was before a single "un-retire" episode or hint of it. Now I'm not bragging - I'm admittedly the same guy that loved Mich. St. over UNC - I just have no idea where I came up with that or what I was really basing it on.

But for one it was the whole media darling thing, and the idea that maybe he was going to walk clean from the game at the height of his powers. It was absurd. So the prediction was just the juxtaposition of the ridiculous media naivete and the more likely reality, figuring then that instead of the retirement it would probably end up being the grandaddy of all bullshyt drama retirement/un-retirements. He may not be there yet, but he's getting close. I did nail it for what it's worth, which ain't much - but it is odd.
