Indy plays Houston this week, so it would be a miracle.

This site says 2%:

http://www.playoffstatus.com/nfl/nfldraftorder.html

It also has us only with a 54% chance at the #2 pick, because they are projecting we will probably win one of our 2 remaining games and finish 3-13.

Are the Rams for sure taking Kalil if they get #2?

Everyone seems to assume that, but like i posted, they just took Smith 1st overall in 2009, and Saffold at 33rd in 2010. Not sure of how good those two are, but they have a better o-line and worse WR's than we do IMO.

I've heard Rams GM interviewed on Sirius NFL radio indicating they're extremely happy with both players.

Still too early to tell who will be the very top of the draft besides Luck at 1.

Whether Kalil, Claiborne, etc are #3 overall prospect or #10 overall prospect still has a long way to shape up. Von Miller for example wasn't getting hyped as a top 10 pick until he dominated at the senior bowl practices and game and then he keeps climbing and goes #2. The whole draft board changes from now until April, while we know there are guys that are first rounders nobodies guaranteed a top pick except Luck.

Basically the Rams aren't anywhere near sure to be taking Kalil at 2. As already said tackle doesnt seem to be a major priority for them so they could potentially pass on him even if he is that elite #2 overall prospect.

OMG all the possibilities now...............

With Barkley returning to school, the #3 pick just became substantially less valuable IMO. Makes a top 2 even more important.

Ind 89.8
Stl 7.0
Min 3.2

Not sure about specific scenarios though.

so i assume that means we will def lose the tiebreaker to indy? the colts have been playing good football for about a month so them beating jax is not much of a stretch.

+1 to puking if the vikes win any more games. i've ranted this before but why wouldn't zygi take control of the situation and make sure we give ourselves the best chance to lose?

Considering we were gonna take kalil or blackmon, barkley returning doesnt change much.

Blainestar,
If wilf got his team to throw games players and coaches wouldnt want to come here.

If we got the #3 pick and took Blackmon I would be furious. He is talented, but I don't think 6'1 WR's can be dominant in the NFL anymore. That, and there have only been a few WR's in the last decade worthy of a top 3 pick. (Moss,Fitz,AJ,Megatron) No way Blackmon is on that level.

I meant if we got #3, we would have tons of trade offers for Barkley (Wash/Cle/Mia), and by sliding down just a few spots, we could pick up an OT AND potentially get a top 3-4 WR from this class.

3 of the top 4 WR in yards this season are 6-0 or shorter. 6 of the top 8 are 6-1 or shorter.

This. Pick is less valuable now that Barkley isn't in the draft.

And how many are 6'1? Owned!

Very excited for some epic final weeks drama! Rams playing Charlie Batch's Steelers and then maybe a Niners team who won't care/will want to lose! Plus the Colts who PLAY TO WIN THE GAME!

This is true.

But I think we can all agree that Welker, Smith, and Cruz are not dominant, game changing WR's by any stretch. We already have the stud slot guy, we need another outside/jump ball threat.

It doesn't matter though. Our need for a franchise LT>>>>>>>>>>>>WR. There will be several FA WR's on the market this offseason. Franchise LT's? non-existent.

How is Steve Smith not dominant or game changing?

What about Mike Wallace? Greg Jennings? Boldin? Nicks? Roddy White?

I mean, yeah LT > WR. But writing a guy off based on one data point doesn't make sense. Jerry Rice was slow and only 6-2 and he did pretty well.

Think whatever you want. Blackmon screams Crabtree part II to me. Pile up unbelievable stats vs ****ty Big 12 defenses does not proclaim an all-world WR talent.

Drafting someone in the top 5 should net you a near top 10 player at the position within a few years IMO (QB exempt). Look at that list you keep quoting and ask yourself if you really think he could be up there with those guys.
