Two guys who clearly weren't quitting yesterday. Edwards especially had an outstanding game and was getting on the DBs about their effort (presumably) well after the game was out of hand.

Why should he be pouting? When you are working your ass off and everything is falling apart around you due to the incompetence of others, what is there to do but laugh about it?

I'm really interested to see what the offense looks like next week. Was Bevell just acting as like a glorified QB coach while Childress really ran the offense? Or does he feel the exact same way about forcing the players to fit his scheme?

Dear God I just realized this means he's going to be hired as an analyst almost instantly. Why Favre, why did you have to suck so bad this year?

Guys,

Thanks for the support over the years, it's been a great time and we won a lot of games. I take full credit for the wins.

A lot of people have tried to contact me and I apologize in advance for not responding. My family has a house to sell and things to sort out. Plus, I just went down to my local bank branch and asked for every dollar bill they had. I intend to spend the rest of the afternoon counting. So far I am up to $1,881 but I've had to start over twice because I lost count. Once I get to $6,600,000, I will again be available for questions.

I know this has been a difficult time for everyone, and I appreciate all the well-wishes as we both move on from what I am certain has been a productive relationship for all.

Sincerely,

Brad

I'm interested in this too. IMO, Chilly ran the O and Bevell was a muppet, just like it was in Philly where Reid ran the O and his OC Chilly was a muppet.

Edwards had an outstanding game? Admittedly I've only watched the game once (i usually watch them multiple times, but this one was insta-deleted). Anyway, I didn't notice Edwards standing out. What did stand out was the ridiculous amount of time Rogers had on virtually every pass from the second quarter on.

Someone made an interesting point today that Childress never called plays in Philly. The day he left Reid let Mornhinweg take over playcalling duty.

I'm going to go back to cheering for the Vikings. This year has been a complete disaster with the exception of getting rid of chilly. I hope we do well the rest of the year, but what is far more important imo, is who gets hired to run the team after the season.

The Big Tuna says he wants to run a team one more time. He would be a GM type with control over everything and would hire the coach. Zygi was a long time Giants fan before buying the Vikes. What does everyone think of the Tuna coming here? I'm not sure. I do like the idea of having a good GM in charge of everything.

I would be very excited if we could land Bill Cowher to be the next coach.

Edwards had 2 sacks and a number of pressures. I'd have to rewatch to say exactly since I wasn't paying much attention in the second half. In the first play of the 4th quarter he absolutely destroyed Bulaga and sacked Rodgers to force a punt.

I'm not sure I agree with your last sentence either. A lot of their big plays came on short drops or from Rodgers doing a good job scrambling to avoid pressure.

lol - that should tell everyone everything they need to know about the idiot. Even his buddy Reid didnt trust him to do something any NFL offensive coordinator should be capable of doing.

disagree w/ this yr being a disaster, been easily 2nd best yr out of chilly era.

Moss - WE GOT MOSS BACK (only for a few weeks) ULTIMATELY LEAD TO CHILLYS DEMISE!!! MOSS IS GOAT VIKING
Percy - follows up on rookie success, almost punches Chilly in face.
Peterson - keeps beasting
****** record - necessary if you want a franchise QB. Great QBs coming out + new Head coach wants "his guy", etc

seriously, we didnt win it all but the next best thing was DEFINATELY getting rid of chilly.

round 1 losss + chilly for next x seasons <<<< CHILLY GONE, RANDY GOT HIM OUT OF HERE

Do you always follow this thread or do you regularly search for posts about Parcells?

I'm not a huge fan of bringing him in but it would certainly be an improvement.

I'm guessing he runs continuous searches for P.arcells, H.enne, and S.parano

I think we need to bring in some kind of gm in order to separate the personnel and coaching decisions, as we all saw what a disaster giving the coach total control was.

I made a post in the thread earlier this year so it was still in my subscriptions list. I disagree that he will be an improvement. This is the third year of his cronies tenure in Miami and they still haven't improved. He has missed on so many draft picks and free agent signings. They signed earnest wilford to a big contract and he was inactive for most of the year, justin smiley big contract and cut next year, same with jake grove. The 1-15 dolphins were bad, but they had a lot of bad luck too. half the team was on IR, and they lost like 5 or 6 3 point or less games. So they take a healthy team, an incredibly easy schedule and the number 1 pick in the draft and seem to make the greatest single season turnaround ever, but really wasn't that great.

Also, wait until he starts cutting or trading decent players so he can bring in **** that he used to coach or drafted (like bobby carpenter or pat mcquistan).

i wouldnt mind leslie keeping the job depending on what we see obv, everything im hearing about this guy is great, and the players like him. I think gruden is likely to go to dallas so id be happy with kowher or jim harbaugh if leslie shows hes incompetent for some reason.

I agree with all that, but if he would have been fired when he tried to cut Moss, and we had kept Moss, maybe we could have got to the playoffs and done something. I guess I'm being greedy.

Maybe this is the best year of the chilly era because its the one he got fired in

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...ision-to-make/

"There is one train of thought that says it’s time to put Brett Favre out of his misery and bench him. The team needs to see what it has with Tarvaris Jackson. Heck, maybe Favre wants to “re-evaluate” things further even though he is likely happy about Monday’s move.

There is another train of thought that says the Vikings know precisely what they have in Jackson. He’s a free agent after the season and doesn’t seem particularly likely to be part of Minnesota’s quarterback solution, no matter who is the head coach.

“Those of you calling for Tarvaris Jackson should know that the only coach in football who believes in him got fired today,” ESPN.com’s Kevin Seifert wrote.

That’s a pretty convincing argument. No matter what Frazier chooses, the season has gone off the rails.
"

It doesn't matter who plays QB the rest of this year. I think SL said earlier in this thread, our starting QB for next season is probably not on the roster right now. We have a bright future to look forward to imo.
