No way Chilly starts TJack, why would he care about the future when he probably won't be part of it.

lol@Rodney Harrsion saying any other QB in the NFL would have got benched for the way Favre played today

and seriously Shiancoe can't catch ****

Did anyone else see Chilly motioning to decline the illegal forward pass penalty on Cutler? He doesn't even know the ****ing penalty is a loss of down, how bad can you be at your job?

pretty sure Manning or Brady could not only play that bad, but far worse and not get benched

Harrison's point was that the season if over and Favre is gone next year, so every other team would start looking towards the future if they had an entrenched veteran.

Brett setting up an exit strategy.

Vikings quarterback Brett Favre told ESPN he plans to contact Dr. James Andrews after experiencing pain in his right shoulder that could be related to surgery he had to repair a partially torn biceps tendon in spring 2009.

Oh, just a reminder. Yesterday's receiving corp looked a lot like the pre-Favre receiving corp.

Camarillo, Lewis and Baskett were a pretty hilarious trio in the two minute offense.

Yes, I forgot to mention that earlier. What a tool.

Yeah we probably could've used an extra receiver there, possibly someone like Randy Moss

I'd really like Gruden. I'd like Cowher, but I wonder if he would try to convert us to a 3-4, which would be a really waste of some talent.

I don't think getting TJax and extra game here or there makes a significant difference for the future. I'd go with the best possible guy until you hit eight losses or are mathematically eliminated. No reason to throw in the towel yet.

I thought the exact same thing. Even though this team has played at like 20% for all but like two quarters I still can't see how you can lose games with Favre/Harvin/Moss/Peterson, especially if you had the coaching equivilent of say some 15 year old who's good at Madden.

I'm a Packer fan who's glad they're basically eliminated, but it was so anticlimatic that I kind of wish next week's game had more meaning.

TJax/Webb would at least be interesting to watch.

gruden is a kweer. i suppose id rather have him than chilly though. i dont know.

i'd like to see some new no-name. or a young guy. somebody who doesn't have his own system to implement and can pick whatever he thinks matches the team.

It's pretty rare to find a coach who actually structures his playbook around personnel. Either way can work, but if he's going to structure his roster around his playbook, his playbook better be better than most other coaches in the league. I'm not sure this is true of anyone.

Conspiracy Theory: Zygi knows he's going to fire Chilly and knows he doesn't want Frazier to replace him...because he wants Cowher or Gruden or someone else. So he won't fire Chilly now in case interim coach Frazier goes undefeated or something as a replacement and becomes a hero candidate.

Meh, I'm not sure Frazier is even a legit candidate. Run defense has gotten worse every year since he came here and with the exception of '08, the pass defense has been pretty bad every year.

There is no way you can attribute the full change in run defense effectiveness to "PWill is getting old." He is still pretty good and they've gone from by far the best in the league to slightly below average.

I don't see how firing Chilly and replacing him with Frazier does anything right now either. Frazier + Bevell going to turn the offense around? Getting rid of Chilly going to help Frazier turn his defense around?

It gives us fans something concrete to look forward to. Right now, we have to worry about chilly being around past the end of this season. If he's gone now, we have brighter days ahead.

I'm terrified at the thought of the first part of that article being true - that is, the idea that Zygi plans on keeping chilly a long time.
