Good series guys, you're always welcome to play us again in NY anytime!

To be fair their OPS+ is >100. It's just depressing having your three best hitters all playing way over their heads and still being so mediocre offensively.

Glen Perkins to the DL.

Meh, from the sound of it he probably should have been on the DL for a while now.

/edit I really wish the Twins would move Slama and Delaney along quicker. They are 25 and 24, do they really need to spend a whole season dominating at AA?

i guess this isn't a big surprise, his velocity seemed to be down 3-4 mph from the last couple years...hopefully its just some inflammation and he can rest the arm for a couple weeks and be back

I've been following the minor leagues pretty closely and I'm pretty sure this type of stuff is going to tilt me all year.

There's obviously some sample size and homerism issues here, but I think by the end of the year Mauer will have a case as the best player in mlb (or at least the most valuable).

EDIT: Well I guess he already kind of did, but I think if he continues to hit for power the rest of the world will finally start to catch on.

regular mauer with 30 HR would be the sickest thing ever

in my opinion, the rest of the world has already caught on more than twins fans. most of the local fans that i know underrate mauer. ("morneau is better" , "he's too injury-prone", "he doesn't hit enough homeruns" etc. it's mostly due to just underrating walks and the added value of offense at the C position) fans around the league don't underrate him, as far as i can tell.

I agree with that, it was so tilting listening to the idiot fans chanting MVP when Morneau was up instead of Mauer in 06

Yeah I remember last year on KFAN they were debating who was better and a bunch of people kept calling in saying Morneau was because he got more RBIs. Facepalm.

I'm really excited that the offense clicked when they moved mauer+morneau up to 2 and 3 in the order. not that I think that led to a bunch of runs, but I think positive association for gardy is pretty huge so hopefully he will keep them there and stop putting ****ty second basemen ahead of them

yay about ****ing time, i was so surprised when i saw mauer batting second never thought gardy would do that

plz plz plz Gardy, one time, see it.

I tuned in late with Tolbert up to bat, and then up came Punto and I knew Crede was in the game so Harris wasn't in there, so I'm thinking who is batting second?!? Cuddy? I mean, I'd rather see Cuddy or Crede hitting second instead of Tolbert.

But it was Mauer. The Man. Such a joy to watch right now every time he comes up.
