Cron, batting 5th for the first time in the 2nd. Guy behind me: "finally, we have an American player". Never change Minnesota.

Also guy in front of me wearing a jersey with the number 2 on it, word "Amendment" above it. Alone of course.

Right now, this looks like the best Twins team we have ever had. 1991 was great, but this team has a lot more power and a deeper pitching staff. Hopefully this continues through the season and post-season.

This appears to be by far the best Twins team ever.

Their W/L% right now is .690. Their pythW/L% (W/L% as predicted by run differential) is .666. Pyth will tend to underrate teams with good bullpens and overrate those with bad ones.

The best actual W/L% in franchise history is .651 in 1933. (Washington Senators)
The best since moving to MN is .630 in 1965.
In '91 it was .579.

Their run differential of +109, through 58 games, would be the 15th highest in team history if the season ended today. If they continued on that same pace it would be 304 at the end of the season. Best in franchise history currently:

1930 Washington*Senators 203
1933 Washington*Senators 185
1965 Minnesota*Twins 174
1969 Minnesota*Twins 172
1963 Minnesota*Twins 165
...
1991 Minnesota*Twins 124
1987 Minnesota*Twins -20

This is definitely the best Twins team of my lifetime.

I'm fearful that Blake Parker or another bullpen star of ours is going to cause this team to implode in the playoffs though.

Didn’t need Kimbrell, didn’t want kimbrell

Never mind. Even if our pitching isn’t perfect all game, we’ll just hit the ball out of the park anytime we goddamn please.

Yup very disappointing, so now they have to go give up assets for relievers who are probably worse than Kimbrel? lol Twins

I’d trade Sano for a bucket of batting practice balls

Hopefully this regression doesn’t last too long.

The remaining schedule is very pro-Twins, 26 games vs Chicago/Detroit/KC

Indians only have 16 vs those 3.

If they don't 1-5 the 2 remaining series vs Cleveland they should easily win the division, and might still even with that level fail h2h.

If they would have hit him in the 9th, he would be on a 5 day vacation this week.
