Would love to see a clip of that play - hard to figure out what happened from the article.

It's kinda like watching a porno, that game. You want to watch the whole game (foreplay), but it's so damn tempting to fast forward to the end.

Awesome. Was just gonna watch the fakeout play and then ended up finishing the entire game - no regrets on spending that hour.

top of the 8th inning was very cool.

bottom of the 8th not as much.

Probably the best inning in baseball history

PMac made a comment today along the lines of we got a great deal if cash was going the Dodgers way in the deal. lol.

As bad as almost all the Twins hitters are, every one of them is a lot better at hitting than Buterrible.
We actually got a prospect from the Dodgers in this trade. No idea how.

I think he'll be good. Expectations just got set too high because we've been so starved for any kind of pitching talent, and I think people in general underestimate how difficult it is to instantly succeed in the big leagues (especially after Trout/Harper).

Nice to see us win a trade for a change. Its been a while since that happened (the Span & Revere deals excluded because we wont really know about those for a long time).

Despite their best efforts, they destroyed the Santana trade.

The Mets got -$82.3m out of Santana.
The Twins got $15m in excess value for Gomez and another $4m or so from Hardy.

Although, to be fair that isn't the right way of judging it. The $20m or so they got in return for Santana probably is similar to 2008 Santana plus comp picks minus 2008 Santana's salary.

/edit Of course the above is the wrong, results-oriented, way to judge a trade. They won the Santana trade, they won the Span trade and the won the Revere trade.

It's kind of annoying browsing the WAR leaderboard on FG and seeing Carlos Gomez in fifth.

Well, if it makes you feel any better they have JJ Hardy at 49th! Not sure where Hooey is though, seems to be out of the top 50.

Seeing Liriano in the 4th for Cy Predictor for the NL hurts a little bit too.

It had been a little while since I checked in on Sano/Buxton.

Sano is hitting.263/.341/.632 for the month of August.
Buxton is hitting .424/.553/.545 for the month of August! That includes 17 walks and 12 strikeouts.

Is it true that Joe Mauer doesn't really have concussion symptoms and just doesn't want to play anymore this season? I guess it's hard to blame him.

? Where did this rumor come from?

Noticed Phil Mackey retweeted a bunch of idiot fans today calling for us to "cut in half the pay" of our "singles hitting" catcher (who actually has an .880 OPS) because "he's not what we need."

Out of all the Twins-related things to complain about, it boggles my mind how anyone could identify Mauer. Jesus.
