loling at the image of Ridnour trying to guard a 6'9" dude, why wouldn't Wes or Beas be on him?

Because he assigned Wes to shut down Kevin Martin, which he did btw.

Kevin Love red card offense. Stepped on Scola's face. He gonna get suspended, says the HOU announcers. Which would be fair, tbh.

Yeah, sure he'll be suspended...Hou announcers are actually pretty good

Edit: .500!!!

google kevin love scola and you can find the video. i'd say 60% chance it was intentional, but may not have been.

Yeah agreed. The game was definitely getting chippy on both ends. Love probably gets banged around more than most itl, but the step on the face was way over the line and he deserves to be suspended for it.

Wes played ok defense on kevin martin also. Pek was the difference maker in the 4th. Houston went small and they couldn't deal with his size inside.

what do you think one game suspension?
Minnesota Timberwolves- Re-re-rebuilding Time Quote

It actually didn't look like he stepped very hard or was trying to do damage. And Scola has an ugly mug anyway.

But yeah, hopefully Love realizes that was a mistake in general.

if it could be established that it was 100% intentional i'd say like 10 games. but since it may not have been, or since it may have only been semi intentional (for example, maybe he was trying to give him a little kick in the chest and missed), i'd say like 3 games.

just my opinion obv. i have no idea what the league will do, if anything.

I don't know how they do these rulings, but he's never done anything like this before. He didn't slam down hard on his face to make it look completely intentional.

I think it was, but there can be a case for a grey area.

I'd guess 1-2 games. Bynum only got four for his hit on Barea(reduced from 5), and imo that was much worse than this.

One game. Anything more is an NBA conspiracy!

The stamp wouldn't have happened, imo, without Love getting knocked around like a pinball the previous possession and was a direct result of him getting frustrated for not getting a call. He needs to work on that.

I do not think that we'd ever get marion, but our 2 and 3 spot are our weakest spots. I'm just trying to think of the worst wing we could hypothetically get that would still be a major upgrade over what we have now.

What about a guy like kyle korver? Decent D, great shooter.

WRT Webster:

I'll need to see the back issues webster has had, but those sometimes never go away. I remember with my back surgery I was still rehabbing for a year after it. It's been 2-3 years now and it's still not as strong as it used to be and standing for long periods of time causes it to ache. Basketball put a lot of strain on my back when i played casually after I was cleared by my doctors for more physical activity.

It could easily be the case that Webster is cleared to play, but his minutes are limited due to weakness still remaining in his back from the surgery.
I herniated a disc last year. I read a couple excellent books, became somewhat of a layman's back expert, and rehabbed it on my own. My chiropractor was pretty surprised and impressed that I did not need surgery. It was a severe injury that caused me not not be able to walk for ~ 5 weeks - it was probably more severe than either of Webster's injuries. Based on what I know, Webster ought to be almost 100%. He is a pro athlete and has some very good doctors and trainers helping him. Doing the right exercises will/has likely made him ok. I'm sure he's ok to play now or he would not be playing. That being said, there is some risk that type of injury can recur though (it did once), and playing pro ball is a rough game. He appears to be rusty as far as his shooting goes, but I think the more he plays, the better that will get.

Korver isnt the type of player I think we need, but he would be an upgrade for sure. I think we'll have all kinds of options as far as trades & FAs this trade deadline and this next offseason.

we would be screwed. We need some wings.

lol

I would be surprised if he gets suspended. He stepped on Scolas chest, but not hard, and I dont think they can say it was for sure intentional. Also, Scola didnt get hurt.

WOOHOOOO!!!!

Barea had a nice game tonight. Love & Rubio were both very good. Pek was efficient as usual. He's turning into a decent defender and rebounder.

ah cool. yeah i had a lower back injury. a piece of bone had broken off my back and was herniating a disc which then was pushing into a nerve in my leg.

I was off my feet for ~ 4 months only being able to stand or sit upright 15 minutes max at a time, so that inability to do nothing really weakened my core. When i was cleared to do things(structurally healed) I was never told by my doctors to rest, but found I needed rest at least initially even due to standing for long periods of time. I am not a professional athlete though.

His rehab will be faster, but he could still be feeling muscle fatigue. Basketball shape is different than being in shape. I'm sure he'll see more minutes as the season goes on.

And that was after Bynum had already been suspended 2 games for the exact same hit on Beasley

The broken bone part and the 4 months of hell sound nasty. I feel lucky mine only lasted ~5 weeks (I had leg and hip issues caused by the herniated disc irritating the leg nerve). My rehab went fairly fast once I was able to move and do stuff because my core was strong from lifting weights prior to the injury. I'm assuming Martell was in excellent shape and very strong before he got hurt, so yeah, it should be pretty good by now. He doesnt appear to be bothered at all by it and I havent seen him look tired yet, so those are good signs.

Yeah, I'm pretty amazed at how good Webster looks physically. Starting 5 should be:

Rubio
Webster
Tolliver
Love
Pek

Good opportunity for DW and AR. Let's hope they seize the day.
Good chance for Beasley to lead by example.
A good time of rest for Love so he can recharge his batteries.
It's all good!
