Rubio/Ridnour did a great job defensively on D Williams. He shot horribly and was pestered constantly. He's still a great player though.

was at the game, morrow was feeling it tonight, the 4th qt was very contested shots. they made the last play too obvious, dron should have take then last shot, they had all the passing to morrow closed.

The defense was getting to him too late most of the time. He was super hot - he looks like a good player. I wish the Wolves had a SG that good.

DWill lost the handle on the ball on that last play, which is why the pass was kind of sloppy. Once he bobbled it he should have just stopped and got a hold of it before trying to pass it.

Nets announcers said Morrow is the 2nd best shooter in the history of the NBA. idk what metric they used. They were making a few grandiose statements just for the fun of it; but, it's supposedly based on a statistical fact.

if Morrow wasn't a GOAT-level shooter he woudn't even be in the D-League, he's undersized, bad defender, don't fight thru screens that effectively, can't dribble, poor vision, bad passer, can't post up and can't draw fouls. Just ran hot vs some bad D and the tactical decision to trap/double deron most times

I didn't see the game tonight, but by the box score Wes seemed OK? Although, everyone seems to say he didn't have a good game tonight.

I'll be honest, I've never heard of this Morrow guy before.

Wes is beyond awful. For those who didnt see it, we're up by 5 with ~25 seconds left. Wes loses his man on an in bounds play, a guy who scored over 40 tonight (no coincidence there). Wes runs out to contest the 3 point shot late and fouls the guy after he shoots & makes a 3. 4 point play.
To be fair, Wes was getting blocked by the most blatant moving screen I've ever seen. It looked exactly like an offensive tackle blocking a linebacker.

So you're saying it didn't look at all like Charlie Johnson?

yeah, that could have been called a foul, but regardless of whether that was a foul or not, Wes was out of position in the first place, and he looked like he was trying to foul almost. Adelman will normally get pissed at the refs and stick up for players when they get fouled, but he was obviously incredulous about what Wes did this time.

I like this part:

Let's get right down to it with Pek: How cosmically funny is it that another McHale draft pick is blossoming into a starting player under David Kahn? How much funnier is it that he essentially plays the role of Al Jefferson, or of a much bigger Craig Smith? How perfect is it that he is decidedly not long and not athletic? He's the anti Ryan Hollins. He's a Mac guy through and through. He's much more Celtic than Showtime. Ohhhhhh....this franchise is still the gift that keeps on giving.

I heard Kahn recently made a comment about how the biggest need on this team is at C, not wing.

KAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHNNNN!

I was at the game yesterday in amazing seats. Pekovic seems really good. Great feel inside. Morrow was just stupid good. Really no way to stop him the way he was shooting. Agree that the wolves did a pretty good job defending Deron all night. Despite the stats, he didn't play very well I thought. I didn't check the box score but it seemed like Deron had a lot of TOs and Rubio a lot of steals.

Was a bit unimpressed with Love. But I'm sure that's just because Peko stole the show offensively. Oh and the Nets have wayyy too many Williams'.

Noze - the Wolves kicked the **** out of HOU the last time they played. The 1st game when the Wolves lost, we had two guards and zero SFs available to play, and HOU went with a 4 guard lineup that we had no answer for. The 2nd game when we had some healthy bodies, we blew them out at HOU.

If we win tonight, we will reach the .500 mark. (6th attempt this year at .500) And also:
- Last 24 games .500
- Last 20 games .550
- Last 15 games .600
- Last 10 games .600
- Last 5 games .600

Could this really be a .600 team?

Its only a matter of time til we pass the .500 mark imo.

I think we should play a game:

Name the worst wing that we could hypothetically add to our lineup that would guarantee us a spot in the playoffs.

Off the top of my head, Shawn Marion

Cool chart. The scoring should be weighted though. Pek is ridiculously good compared to Darko. 11-4 doesnt do Pek justice. We have a real NBA C imo. Now we need a couple wings.
a couple of bad things about pek, he's kind of a foul box and he cant seem to play extended minutes(i think 30 a game is his max).

I do agree, in most scenarios darko should be benched. There's not many teams where we will need milicic's size. AR or Love should take those minutes vs smaller teams.

However, you have to kind of wonder why AR has been scratched the last few games. Makes you wonder if his pout that he puts on the court is his actual douche bag demeanor all of the time.

agree with this. morrow ran hot last night, but it also helps him that we dont really have an above average perimeter defender. rubio might be, but you dont want rubio chasing around morrow through screens.

Webster can be an avg to above avg perimeter defender. He needs PT. I wonder why he isnt getting any.

Marion would be a great addition, but I dont see that happening. I think adding M Lee could plug a hole, especially if that means seeing Wes in street clothes next to AR.

AR is weak and dumb. I think he's in street clothes for those reasons. Maybe certain matchups will dictate someone else winds up there in other games - Darko? Wes? Beas?

Pek had 4 fouls in 34 mins last night. I think the fact he was playing mostly vs a 3rd string C helped, but he has been trending towards less stupid fouls lately - he appears to be starting to get it. That trend needs to continue. If it does, we'll have a unique beast

Agreed, Pek is definitely improving from game to game and is definitely playing like a starting caliber center.

I do not think that we'd ever get marion, but our 2 and 3 spot are our weakest spots. I'm just trying to think of the worst wing we could hypothetically get that would still be a major upgrade over what we have now.

What about a guy like kyle korver? Decent D, great shooter.

WRT Webster:

I'll need to see the back issues webster has had, but those sometimes never go away. I remember with my back surgery I was still rehabbing for a year after it. It's been 2-3 years now and it's still not as strong as it used to be and standing for long periods of time causes it to ache. Basketball put a lot of strain on my back when i played casually after I was cleared by my doctors for more physical activity.

It could easily be the case that Webster is cleared to play, but his minutes are limited due to weakness still remaining in his back from the surgery.

I never assumed they'd bring Webster back and play him big minutes right away. He's been injury prone and I'd imagine everyone wants to be careful. If he goes down again the Wolves will be screwed again with no one solid and smart to play at the 2 or 3.

c'mon rick. Luke can't guard 3's. Luke has 10 pts already halfway through the 1Q. But, the last 9 pts HOU has scored have happened because Luke can't remotely guard Parsons.
