Sounds like he will sign tomorrow!!

http://www.canishoopus.com/2012/1/24...-deal#comments

Ray Richardson (partial?) retraction...?

“Time to surface! Never said K-Love had signed. Said he WILL sign Wed. Reliable source gave up the numbers: 4 yrs, $62M. Lawyer(s) in Dallas”

Ray is not backing down

Time to surface! Never said K-Love had signed. Said he WILL sign Wed. Reliable source gave up the numbers: 4 yrs, $62M. Lawyer(s) in Dallas

and

@tyler479 You’ll be happy tomorrow. WTF, you know what they say: good things happen to those who wait, or don’t curse

90% of the crap I say on here is sarcastic

I trust Ray's sourcing

Ray Richardson does good work. He later tweeted that he never said that Love has signed the contract. He said the lawyers are all down in Dallas (for a reason).

Per Ray:

“Time to surface! Never said K-Love had signed. Said he WILL sign Wed. Reliable source gave up the numbers: 4 yrs, $62M. Lawyer(s) in Dallas”

Sounds like the deal is imminent. Is it wrong that my second reaction (after celebrating of course) will be to troll as many delusional Lakers fans who thought Love was trying to get out of MN as possible?

If it is in fact the four year deal, huge win for the team since they can now use the five year one for Rubio when his rookie deal expires. While Love may be more vital to the Wolves long term success, Rubio is very likely going to be our best marketing commodity.

We know Kahn is a massive Rubio fanboy like the rest of us and I'm sure Papa Glen can see the dollar signs.

Trolling Laker fans is standard and mandatory.

Nice sign by the Wolves. Surprised it's for 4 years but, Love hopefully still is happy and pumped.

The four years actually may have helped. It sounds like Taylor and Kahn sold Love's camp on four years so they could retain the core of the team down the road once Williams and Rubio's rookie deals expire. You can pretty much pencil Rubio in to the "designated player" 5-year deal a few years from now.

The extra year I'm sure would have been nice for Love but he's still making ~$15.5M/year so I think financially he'll be aight. Plus Love has said that one of his deciding factors will be if he feels the team is committed to being a winner. He's not really getting paid any less $$$/year and obv believes in what Kahn is putting together.

Yeah, Cha brought up a really good point a couple days ago when we were talking that while Love and Rubio aren't the same guys, Taylor got burned pretty hard in the Garnett/Marbury fiasco where Marbury wouldn't accept a max deal b/c he needed to be the highest paid player on a team.

While I can't imagine Rubio has that same issue, it's nice the 5 year is open. I wouldn't be too surprised if they didn't sell Love on it just b/c they want to give it to Rubio, but b/c they potentially could lure a big free agent with it. To me that makes more sense. Get someone whose contract will expire and promise them the 5 year that they maybe can't get with their current team. That may be a pipe dream, buuuuuut, it's cool to think the Wolves may try to nab someone of that caliber to go with Love/Rubio.

That could be their thinking/sales pitch to Love.

I have heard from people I trust that David Kahn presented Love with a contract offer in the training room -- not sure if it was the only formal offer ever made or the latest -- after Monday's loss to Houston and that Love was seen leaving Target Center with it crumpled in his hand and visibly angry.

Kevin Love is no longer seeking a fifth year to a contract extension he is seeking from the Minnesota Timberwolves, according to league sources. Instead, Love is seeking a four-year deal with an opt-out clause for the final season.

JUST GIVE HIM WHATEVER HE WANTS - I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!

How you guys feeling about tonight's game against the Mavs? I'm feeling a big 'ole LOSS headed your way but figured I would take the temperature of my favorite group of homers on 2p2.

I think I woulda locked him up for 5. This may come back to bite them imo and K-Love is good enough to build a championship contender around even without Rubio. Obviously many very good players would need to be involved to replace the Wolves' current scrubs, but, the whole point of the 5 year deal is so teams like MN can keep players at Love's level.

For instance, Westbrook imo isn't even at his level and I thought OKC locking him up was smart (although I kinda hate Westbrook a bit given how much of a bitch he is on the court).

if we still suck in 3 years, theres a lot of things going wrong tho and and it hasnt worked out w/ this group at all. more than enough time to prove that we're going to be good enough in 3 years so he wants to stay. Sure wasnt well handled by Khan/Taylor, but do you expect anything else?

Unless Love turns into absolute dog **** over the next 3 years I see no way he doesn't opt out after 3 years. He might opt out planning on resigning with the wolves, but I don't see any realistic way he doesn't opt out.

The problem with us right now is depth. We're at least 5 or 6 players short of a full bench right now.

Martell will be back Friday pending a doctor's approval tomorrow.

Mavs getting their rangs tonight.

They scheduled us as the easy win for the celebration. We're the homecoming cupcake. We'll see how that works out.

Really happy to see Love re-up; they sure will be under pressure w/ Adelman, Rubio and a possible opt-out all coming in the same year.
