You've seem more of him than I have then.

I dont have a strong opinion about who to draft right now. I just hope we get lucky one more time (KG was the other time obv) and get the best player in the draft.

It means if our pick is in the top 10 this year we get to keep it, if its outside the top 10 the Clippers can take it. If we don't give it up this year then next year the Clippers get it no matter what position it is.

ohhhhh. do we get to choose? because if it's not near the top this year it might be smart to give it up and hope for a premium pick next year. also, what trade was this? lol if it was marko jaric

I actually think there's a better chance than not we'll have a better record than 10 teams in 2011/12.

We don't get to choose. If we have a top 10 pick this year, we get it. If it is outside the Clips get it. If the Clips don't get our pick this year, they get it regardless after the 2011-2012 season.

There is a chance (although I'd guess it's not great) the Clips take the pick as the Twolves finish above 10 teams this year and the Clips grab it thinking next year the Twolves will be better.

But most likely the Clips will just have next years pick instead.

I don't think much about the draft will be clear until almost the end of the season when the Twolves position will be more or less set and stuff. I think there's very very little chance they get the best player in the next draft. They're "stuck" with Rubio/Love/Beasley unless they can get other teams' high picks in trades (where they'd likely have to give up one of those guys I'd assume).

Btw, the game Saturday sucked. Love was the only one playing hard and smart, although I did look at the box score and think "only 23 and 15" or whatever, lol. Pretty sure my expectations at this point are ridiculous having watched him play so much recently and seeing him get his hand on like 1/2 of all rebounds every game, coming up with most of them.

In Minnesota basketball right now we have Kevin Love and Trevor Mbakwe. Its really gonna suck whenever I have to actually worry about rebounding again.

Who here lives in Minnesota? This blizzard is ridiculous.
live in st paul and had to shovel out my two neighbors doors. the one had a 2 1/2 foot high drift blocking the door, and the other had a drift 5 feet high blocking the walkway.

It's could be hard to win with 3.5 white dudes starting, though.
the wolves are in desperate need of a shot creating 2 guard. beasley is ok at it, but you need more than one creator offensively. when he goes out the offense is just stagnant. Rubio would help this also, but if he doesnt come over it hurts.

the only "positions" i think we shouldnt address(unless the future goat is available at those spots) are the 3 and 4. 2>5>>1

i would definitely trade rubio to move up for either kyrie irving or austin rivers (in 1.5 yrs). both will turn out to be better than rubio, rivers will be much, much better.

we don't need to argue about this, we can agree to disagree. i'm just posting it so that i can quote it in a couple years (or you can if i'm wrong)

apparently thats a link to some good Rubio highlights from the other day. My connection sucks right now so I havent been able to watch it yet.

One guy at canis commented that every time Rubio gets in the lane, he finds the open man. He simply doesnt miss the open man.

i dont really disagree with kyrie irving. the kid is obviously a stud, plus there is some chance that rubio never plays for us anyway.

Anyone else see the game last night? I saw most of it at the Hard Rock sport book in Vegas. Beat - I put 55 on MN + 3.5

Flynn looked ok.

Webster showed some rust, but he's going to help the team a lot.

I got home in time to see the last quarter and a half vs Denver tonight. We went from down by 20 to almost coming back at the very end.

Stupid Rambis. Denver had a 2 pt lead and the ball with 27 seconds left and 24 on the shot clock. He decided it would be a better idea to play defense than to foul. Anthony took a shot with ~1 on the shot clock. By the time it hit the rim and bounced out of bounds off us, there was 0.3 second left. wtf. Why would you not foul right away?

The little bit I've seen so far of Flynn - he looks pretty good sometimes on offense, then takes a stupid shot or throws a stupid pass. He's still better offensively than any other option we have right now. Defensively - he looks completely lost. Its almost like we're playing 4 on 5 when the other team has the ball.

Love was hitting everything during the time I saw - he finished with a career high 43 + 17 boards. His game definitely has weaknesses (defense and lack of ability to create his own shots), but he's putting up incredible numbers this year - 21.1/15.6. All star numbers imo.

Martell Webster is good. He should be starting and getting most of the minutes at the 2 spot as soon as he's healthy enough. I think we stole this guy from Portland and I'm pretty sure they regret making that trade now with the way Roy's knee problems are.

i didn't see the game, but i'm not sure rambis is wrong to do that with a 3s differential and timeouts left. it depends pretty huge on who the possible FT shooters would be, but i don't think i would foul anthony or billups in that situation. but i mean, with a 2s differential i would definitely foul, so i don't know. you are pretty much screwed either way.

on second thought, i think you're right. i would foul. maybe even with a larger differential.

yeah, assuming you dont steal the ball, and they hold it for a last second shot, and considering the fact they have Camello, who can get a shot off any time he wants, they're going to run it down to 1-2 seconds on the shot clock before shooting. Count the time the ball is in the air, plus if it bounces high, plus the time it takes to secure a rebound, and you are lucky if you have over one second left, if you get it back at all.

Foul em and play the free throw game. ez.

Love is so sick!

Although when I watch I get confused how he scores. It seems to me opposing teams should be able to shut him down fairly easily. Just put someone tall on him who can go out to the 3 point line to defend him and face him up on rebounds. There must be a reason it's not that simple but I'm not really sure what his counters are for that. Defenders constantly get in front of him on offense but then he will always get position on the rebound, but it seems like good defenders should be able to let him get the ball with his back to the basket and still make it tough for him to get his shot off.

Also, it'd be more fun watching them if they won sometimes, lol.

Where does mb rank as an asset in the nba? I took him about 50th overall in the dynasty draft and wasn't getting a lot of love.

hmmm. he's definitely not the best player on one of the worst teams in the NBA. i also think it's at least debatable between him and a few TWolves other than love. he strikes me as someone who is already at or near his peak. i just don't see him figuring much out that he hasn't already. but i can't really back that up with anything but intuition.

He's 21 years old. I think (I really hope anyway) that he has several years to go before reaching his peak.

That being said, I have no idea what his current value is.

Great game tonight vs Utah, for about 45 minutes....

It almost looks like we're trying to do the stupidest things possible to lose when we're in a close game at the end. So many stupid plays at the end tonight, and basically all of them had to go Utah's way or we would have won.

Frustrating, but the good news is we can outplay good teams for long stretches.

Love 25/19, Beasley 24/10, Wes 14 pts on 8 FGA, Webster 15 pts in 25 minutes.... Lots of good performances.
