If you could get rid of Wiggins or Thibs, who do you pick?

Thibs.

Watching the Hawks drain threes all night in your face was more demoralizing than the Wiggins bricked fts.

At least our jerseys tonight were cool.

Thibs. He decided it was a good idea to max out Wiggins. He feels like he needs Wiggins to contribute to justify that decision. He wont trade Wiggins. A new GM might. Fire Thibs!!

As bad as some of our games have been this season, losing to ATL at home (after winning two in a row on the road raised my hopes) is the most disappointing game this season.

Winning by 20 isn’t good enough for Glen

Not sure, but wouldn’t surprise me if there isn’t something in his contract as president or coach that made it make financial sense for glen to do it now.

Since it happened exactly at 40 games, I'm guessing there was some kind of agreement to 'give him half a season'.

Like if Towns wanted him gone maybe Glen talked him into 'give Thibs half the season and if you still want him out, he's out'. Something like that.

Who are people hoping for as the next coach?

This had something to do with it.

I'm hearing the big problem was this: It is getting close to the time that season ticket holders have to decide whether or not they are going to renew for next year. It is obvious to Taylor that there has a lot of fan apathy. He's hearing the boos from the crowd for Thibs every game and hearing negative stuff from the ticket sales people. He was going to lose a lot of season ticket holders if he didnt pull the trigger soon. Its a money issue.

Not Hoiberg.

Apparently we are interested in Monty Williams and Hoiberg. I dont know a lot about Williams, but it sounds like players love him and I thought he did a good job in NO. Right now, I'd pick Williams if it came down to those two.

I dont know what Saunders will coach like, but I hear that if he take us to the playoffs this season, he will probably get the job. If he can do that in this conference this season starting off where we are now, he probably deserves the job.

I just hope that whoever gets the job, its someone who advocates playing like the best modern NBA teams do, ie, shooting mostly 3s and layups, running NBA caliber offensive plays, switching on defense frequently and defending the 3 point line.

Hoiberg might be ok for GM. I do not want Billups. Those are two possibilities that I am hearing. I'm assuming Layden wont last after this season.

Why no love for Hoiberg? From what I remember is he got a pretty unfair chance in Chicago where his first few teams didn't fit the 3ball mode he wanted (Rondo/Wade/Jimmy/Taj/RoLo) and when he was finally able to get players he wanted, they kept getting hurt.

I thought he was a crusher at Iowa State

I dont have a good answer for you on Hoiberg. I see no positive comments and a lot of negative comments about him as head coach on Canis though. My opinion is based on that right now. I want to know more about him if he is going to be a candidate for HC.

He seemed ok as a front office assistant here. He might make a good GM. I'm unsure about that though.

Not that I think that game had any significant impact on the decision, but this certainly doesn't hurt the case (to fire him):

Ryan Saunders obviously.

I'm actually optimistic about Ryan. Players seem to love him and that's like 80% of the battle. If he can get through to Wiggins that would be the most important thing possible for this franchise. Hopefully he staggers Wiggins' minutes and has him play hard for shorter stretches instead of jogging for quarters and a half. Just this last game Wiggins played a 14 minute stretch in the first half and a 16 minute stretch in the second half.

**** this makes me feel old. I played against Ryan at various times growing up. Think I guarded him for a bit when we were seniors on varsity.

phht, old, you're still young. I'm 21 years older than he is. Ryan's much closer to my daughter's age than mine.

Jesus this. I played on an AAU or some kind of summer league team with him, cant believe he's an NBA coach now.
