He's just not a point guard and you've got to accept that he's not the one putting himself in at point. I think Sam is crushing and i don't necessarily think he think Zach is a PG, just it's the best way to get everyone on the court.
exactly. With the Wolves we have 3 known young commodities and a bunch of question marks. Towns/Wiggins/Rubio are all progressing nicely and have a skillset that looks polished or is on the way up.
Then you have guys like BAZZ, Lavine, Dieng, who on some nights look like the best player on the court and on others are awful.
Lavine wasn't good in the second half, but as sam said he didn't really play much in the second half either. Some of that was his own doing and some of that was the refs blatantly swallowing the whistle allowing our guards to get mugged for the last 1.5 quarters. When they switched to Andre Miller over Lavine the outcome was no better(and Miller looked even worse than Lavine imo).
I don't think Lavine has played enough to where we can definitively say he shouldn't play PG. Is he bad at it? yes absolutely, but last night he played well for most of the game...and good enough to where I think he can be a good point guard. he has a lot of work to do but I feel like Mitchell is doing a great job of putting him in good situations to make plays.
