Gortat: http://www.basketball-reference.com/...gortama01.html

Keep in mind he played behind Howard in Orlando.

6-11, 240

My take: decent scorer, very high FG %, decent rebounder, decent defender but not a great shot blocker, overall probably a top 10 center.

when you said top 10 center I thought "bull sh/t", but I looked and he is in that neighborhood. Damn do the centers in the NBA suck.

In general, they do, and he is a pretty good one. He's worth doing that trade imo.

If completely healthy, Bogut is a top 5 C, but with the injury risk and his contract, I think I like the Gortat deal a little better.

Was mentioned in the NBA draft or NBA offseason thread (can't remember) that the Wolves were having talks with the Knicks about a Flynn for #17 and Tony Douglas.

Any trade involving Flynn is a good trade imo, lol.

I know nothing about Douglas aside from what I just looked up online (his career stats & height). Any trade involving us getting rid of Flynn and not taking on an albatross contract is a huge plus imo.

Here is an excellent breakdown of the draft: http://www.canishoopus.com/2011/6/19...aft-board-2011

This part is why I want Biyombo:
Of the top prospects, Biyombo, assuming he can develop basic NBA skills, is the best fit for the Wolves. Bismack is pretty raw, and shouldn't be starting his first year in the league. However, the Wolves currently receive the worst production from the center position in the NBA (Millicic WP48=-0.096 and Pekovic Wp48=-0.094, [5]). Darko and Pek cannot see significant minutes if we hope to crawl out of the cellar. Bismack might not set the world on fire next year, but he may be an upgrade over our current line-up. Giving Biyombo time will be especially tolerable given that he projects as the perfect front-court compliment to Kevin Love. Defensively Biyombo does everything that Love doesn't. He gets out on the perimiter, has the reach to combat any center in the league, collects blocks as a help defender, and is praised as a vocal leader on the defensive end. Offensively, Biyombo will be an oop target, a foul magnet, and will hang-out near the basket throwing down dunks and collecting boards. Off the court Biyombo seems to be a high-character guy and has a nice smile. Apparently Bismack even lists Kevins Garnett and Love as his favorite NBA players.

Really cool. Although he seems significantly shorter than 6'4". Hopefully that's just camera angle and some tall ppl being there.

OT, but I think that would be freaky as hell to move across the world at 20.

Yes it would. I'm not sure, but I think I heard something about his family might be coming to live here with him.

I heard he's grown a bit recently and is 6' 3.5" with no shoes on now. With his arms, he's sort of like a normal person who's 6' 7".

Rumors are that they're in the process of choosing a high school for his sister to enroll in.

Zgoda tweeted that Rubio seemed taller and lankier in person than he expected.

Nice to see some buzz and excitement surrounding the T-Wolves for a change.

"Your numbers over there weren't very impressive..."

At least he didn't randomly interrupt people and speak out of turn like he usually does.

I can remember going to a Vikings game vs the 49ers a few years ago and Santana was pitching on the same day. He called Johan Santana, "Jose Montana" during his radio show.

btw Moss had 3 TDs and he was on a totally different level that day

Just for the record, the rumor the the stupid national media is floating is Love & #2 for P Gasol, which is absurd. Some of the nation media morons were actually debating whether or not that deal would be good for the Lakers

Sid is so annoying in his old age.

Rubio had all the right answers imo. This kid is going to be a lot better than a lot of people realize.

Speaking of stupid idiots in the national media - Steve Smith on NBA tv said "Rubio wont have much of an impact at all - he should be on the bench behind Ridnour & Flynn"

Hey Smith, this is for you! : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hfYJsQAhl0

apparently some random tweet popped up today saying that a KLove and #2 for Bynum deal was practically done and all that was needed was Taylor to sign off on it...it was on hoops hype and now it seems to be gone, i'm sure it was some kind of hoax

National media are just as bad as delusional fans who float horrid trade ideas that nobody in their rational mind would do.

Love + #2 for Bynum would be one of those. I know it's a hoax, but if I were Taylor and Kahn even approached me with this deal, I'd snap-fire him on the spot.
Minnesota Timberwolves- Re-re-rebuilding Time Quote

yeah, Taylor doesnt snap-fire anyone though, and Kahn isnt stupid enough to even consider this imo.

I'll float a ridiculous deal:
Bynum & next years #1 from the Lakers for Flynn, Darko, Hayward & Ellington. Good deal for the Lakers imo!

lol

Here's one that someone at CH floated:

Wolves trade down from 2 to 6, in exchange for Washington’s 2012 Unprotected 1st Rounder.

Washington wants Kanter & wont get him at 6. The Wolves would likely be able to snag Biyombo at 6.

Who says no to that deal?

I think Wizards might do it. The 1st round pick might be a bit much just to move up 4 spots, but if they really like Kanter that much they may bite.

I this guy: http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/6679686/your-deal

My favorite part:
Grantland: Who are your favorite players?

Biyombo: Hakeem Olajuwon, this is my favorite player. But there are two others I idolize in the way they play the game. Kevin Garnett — I like the way he wants to win every game. Every time he's on the floor, he plays intense and plays hard. When he's not on the floor, you can see the team missing him. On the other hand is Kevin Love. Some of the time people say, "You're crazy man. Why you're taking about Kevin Love? The reason why I say Kevin Love is that I love him, I love the way he plays the game. He's smart; he knows where to be to get the rebound. He's the best guy at grabbing the rebound over anyone. Watching him, that makes me learn something. At the end of the day, I'm never gonna be Kevin Love, I'm never gonna be Kevin Garnett, and also I'm never gonna be Hakeem Olajuwon. At the end of the day, I'm just gonna be me. Which means, I'm just gonna take some things from each of them, and that's gonna make me a little better.

BIYOMBO!!!!

I saw fox has Biyombo going #16 overall. So I would think he would be there at #6. I have yet to see a mock draft of him going higher than #8.
