What a day, wow. It's like we made 2 big trades. One to shed Wiggins, and the other to get DAR. Awesome.

Did you see they got rid of Gorgui too?

Yep, nice bonus. After next year it's going to be DAR and KAT with the only big contracts. Could potentially get another max contract star to come. Looks like next year might be possible too if more trades were done.

James Johnson is like 1.5M cheaper than Gorgui next year and probably a worse player. Still, I really hated watching Gorgui play the last 4 years.

The only 2 guys left from last year's team are KAT and Okogie.

I was in Cancun with almost no internet access when these trades happened. Holy ****!!

We fleeced GS imo. Wiggins and a lightly protected #1 for nothing would have been a win. Getting D-Lo is a nice bonus. The dude can shoot and dribble and pass.

This team is a lot of fun to watch now. Probably more fun than any team we've had since the 2004 WC finals team. 81 in the 1st vs LAC and 75 in the 1st vs TOR. Prior to the last two games, this team had never scored more than 74 in a 1st half in its history. And we did this vs two of the best teams in the NBA. Towns might end up with better assist numbers than KG with all these shooters to pass to. Hopefully this level of play continues.

I'll miss Covington, but what we got in return for him makes trading him make sense.

Rosas looks like a genius right now.

Crazy how Okogie is the 2nd longest tenured Wolf now. Just him and KAT left from the **** show it was before. Could be a very solid team next year.

So do the wolves have Johnson and Crabbe coming off the books after this year?

Looks like Beasley’s deal is also up. Would like to keep him though. What type of deal do you think he will get? Some where in the 4/50 mil area?

He turned down 3/30m from DEN. Who knows for sure what he'd get on the open market? 4/50 might be about right, but maybe there's not much of a market for him. I think he's just an RFA anyways, so we can match whatever, and I dont see us overpaying for anyone anymore like Thibs did in bidding against himself with Taj. One thing we have over DEN is Beasley is penciled in as the starting SG here. He was getting inconsistent minutes with DEN because of all the highly paid SGs they have, which made him unhappy. He seems happy to be here in this situation.

I think Juancho is in the same boat as Beasley, but demand for him will obviously be much less.

If we end up keeping Beasley, we probably wont have much more than a mid level exemption spot left I think, maybe a bit more if we sign none of our other FAs. Its not impossible that we could end up with another max player like Beal or Booker by doing some creative stuff, but the chances of that are pretty low I think. I wouldnt say its impossible though, because that's the kind of stuff Rosas wants to do.

Yes, Johnson has a player option for next year, which he'd be a fool to decline, so he's probably going to be back. We didnt gain much by trading Gorgui. Johnson seems like he has close to equal on court value and his contract is only slightly less and for the same time period as Gorgui, but he does have a toughness that we have been lacking, and he has some position versatility.

Crabbe will be gone almost certainly unless he shows a lot in the remaining games, but even if he does, he'd have to take a huge pay cut. I'd guess he's ~1% to stay beyond this season. I dont really know why he's getting any playing time ahead of Nowell. Getting Crabbe's salary off the books will definitely help this summer.

Very fun game last night in Miami. Anyone else see it?

General Soreness had several TOs in the closing minutes, including two steals by D-Lo, and then GS gets stuffed by D-Lo at the rim, blowing his chance to put Miami up by 1. It would have been a fun game regardless of what Butler did, but seeing him piss down his leg at the end of this game to lose it was just awesome.

omg D-Lo can shoot. This guy could be a lot of fun to watch once we get Towns back and they get used to playing with each other. His block on GS last night was sweet (pictures show 3 guys going for the block, but clearly D-Lo was the guy who got it).

J McGloughlin is a legit player imo. He can shoot and he's good at breaking down defenses with the dribble and then making a nice pass to an open teammate. Great pickup by Rosas. I liked seeing him and D-Lo in the lineup together - hopefully we see a lot more of that going forward. Great play by JM last night to score the game winner.

I like Beasley a lot. He's going to be a solid starting SG. He's a RFA this summer. I hope extending him doesn't cost too much this summer.

Juancho is a nice shooter, but I dont like anything else about his game. He's a RFA this summer too. I hope we dont spend a lot on him.

Looking at draft prospects for the first time and they all seem to suck.

Definitely one of the most underwhelming draft classes in quite sometime

Why is Lamelo Ball an elite prospect? He can barely dunk, plays no defense, and his shot is ugly as **** and never goes in. I'd ldo be down for Ricky Rubio 2.0 but Ball seems to suck from the little I've watched.

Ricky rubio 2.0 worth a number 1 overall pick though???????? Hardly

He’s 6-7 with elite handles and a great passer (apparently). Just from his size alone people are forecasting that he’ll eventually be at least a serviceable defender. But his shot will need to be completely reworked.

Sounds exactly like what we don’t need.

Ricky just makes players around him better. I love it.

I sure hope Edwards isn’t a bust. Tom Crean is a micro-managing maniac, and he literally didn’t have anyone worth passing to at Georgia, so I’m choosing to focus on the good and ignore the bad.

Nope. I was unhappy with the Edwards pick at first. I thought he might be Wiggins 2.0. After reading a lot more about him, he definitely is not like Wiggins. He has way better "do ****" stats. He has a way better handle. He made a comment about coming here, something along the lines of we have KAT and Dlo doing most of the scoring here, so he is going to focus on defense. He has much better defensive instincts than Wiggins. This guy has a legit chance to be a star - likely a much better chance than anyone else in the draft, due to his elite athleticism. He might be a bust, but at least we have a few years on his rookie contract to figure that out.

Rosas is taking home run swings looking for superstars. He's not going to hit on all of them, but if he hits on one or two, this could be a great team.

Ricky has improved his shot since he played here. He's still not a great shooter, but I think he was over 36% on 3s last season with a pretty significant sample size. He is going to help us much more than any player in the draft could have for the next year or two. It is going to be a lot of fun watching him play with a bunch of guys who can shoot. He will also help our defense a lot. I am really happy that he is back.

I'm with you on Edwards.

NYK were rumored to be about to make him an offer. We wanted to get him locked up before anyone raised his market price.

I think we did well actually. The deal is 3 years ~43.3 mil with a team option in the 4th year for ~16.7m. Year 1 is a little over $12m. When you look at similar players are getting, its a good deal imo.

The guy is a career ~39% from 3 at very high volume. I think he was over 41% last season with over 10 attempts per game. He plays hard and is a good teammate. I think the team thinks his legal situation wont turn into a big deal. I hope they're right.

This roster looks like we need one or two good PFs. Juancho is not very good, but he can shoot 3s well. It will be interesting to see what our lineups will look like if we dont add a quality PF. Start Layman at PF? Okogie ? Okogie can guard a lot of PFs. Juancho should not start imo.

It sounds like Millsap might be able to be had for cheap. He might not have much left in the tank, but if he does, and if he can stay healthy, that could be a nice addition if we can get him cheap enough. There are a couple others that might be interesting if we can get them cheap enough. Illysova (sp?) might be a nice addition if he's cheap.

Okogie measured 6'3.0 at the combine. I don't think he's PF. Especially since he can't punish bigs by shooting.

I would really like the roster if we didn't have DLo. He just isn't all that good, makes way too much, and plays a position i'd rather see other guys getting minutes.
