Wiggins with the highest +/- for the game vs the Heat and a personal 11-0 run that took the Wolves from down 2 to up 110-101...

Standrew still sucks

Few more of those games and we might trick someone into trading for him.

I doubt anyone will be fooled by anything he does at this point. He's had what, four?, coaches try to get to him over five plus seasons and he's still what he is. He'll look great one game and shitty for 25.

One encouraging thing: he took way fewer very bad shots in this last game. I think someone might have finally gotten through to him, finally, that fall away, contested long twos are bad shots. If he shoots nothing but 3s and in the paint, he will be way less of a drag on this team. We still cant fix the fact that he is lackadaisical most of the time, but if he doesnt hurt us with bad shots all the time, we'll be a better team. And maybe if he sustains play like that for a whole season, we can dump his ass on someone and it will cost us less than it would now.

This team looks like a legit threat to make the playoffs right now, assuming our key players remain healthy. Hopefully they keep playing like this. Towns appears to be playing great defense finally. I think the new defensive coach's scheme is perfect for him.

Worse. He's undeniably worse now than at age 21. He doesn't dunk on people any more, doesn't go hard and get fouled.

Wolves have no chance to playoff imo. It's Towns and a bunch of trash. And we have no upcoming flexibility. Stuck praying for ping pong balls. Thanks Thibs.

Not only do the wolves have no chance this year to playoff, but I don’t see it happening as long as Standrew is on the team.

Only 4 games in, but it isn’t looking good for Culver.

Agree with both of those posts. Towns is incredibly good but I just don't see how it's possible to put pieces around him. KG all over again.

Rubio, Lavine, and Markkanen would really be nice imo.

No one besides Towns seems to be able to shoot anywhere near consistently. Covington will probably be fine. Some other guys need to improve their shooting.

Give Culver some time. Its way too soon to be concerned about him.

Simmons should have gotten suspended. Its obvious he was not being a peacemaker - he was choking Towns.

Embid is a punk. He should have gotten a way longer suspension for the eye gouge.

Wiggins might be worse now than he used to be, but the longer his contract goes, the easier it will be to trade him. Of all the stupid **** thibs did, this Wiggins contract was by far the worst thing he did to the franchise.

We'll see.

The two things that have changed in his game that are sustainable are his improved handle and his improved shot selection (although this still isnt perfect). I think the improved handle has led to better court vision, which is leading to more assists.

The other big thing that has been happening lately is he is playing with more energy. This is leading to things like getting more rebounds, steals & blocks, and being less bad defensively. He's done that in the past at times, then he reverts to being a clueless lazy-ass. We'll see whether or not he continues to play with lots of energy.

As far as his shooting right now, this doesn't appear to be all that much of a hot streak. I think shooting like this is sustainable if he stays away from taking lots of bad shots.

Again, we'll see how long this lasts, but if it continues, he will either greatly improve his trade value, or he could become a decent contributor for us. The contract still looks shitty right now though, but its way less bad if he can continue to contribute in a positive way.

if he plays like this he's worth the max.

Someone on Canis did an analysis of a bunch of his advanced stats for this season to determine his actual value in $ vs what he's been paid to this point. iirc, his value was roughly $3.1m and his contract pay was $3.6m, so its way way better than ever before for this long of a stretch, but he's going to have to do a little better than this to be worth what he makes.

edit: For reference, Towns' value by the same metrics is something around 1.5 to 2 times his contract.

Heard the wolves are still pursuing Russell. Supposedly talks are Teague, Covington and two 1st rounders. That seems like A LOT to give up

Why does everyone think Rosas is some genius when the rotation is filled with so many absolutely garbage non-NBA level players?

Culver looks rough imo. Everything he throws up looks like trash. It's always a shock when the ball goes in.

Teague, wiggs, gorgui and towns take up like 90% of the cap, what's he supposed to do?
