That would be great. I hope he's right.

Denard will see the field plenty this coming season (at QB, and be given whole drives, not just one-down and he's off type things), but I can't see him usurping Tate as the starter.

So I guess a few people here would know, what's the big difference(s), if any, between going to games as a alumni and as a student?

There are more grumpy old people who tell you to sit down, shut up and get off their damn lawn in the alumni sections.

You're less likely to get pelted with a marshmallow.

"Key" plays are greeted with general apathy.

There is no truth to the rumor that wine and cheese are the foods of choice.

No late arriving sorority scenesters.

Am I forgetting anything?

I went to the game vs Sparty last year and when it was tied big 3rd down for the defense so I naturally stood up because we are a football game after all and these like 60 year olds go into this rant about how they have had these seats for 40 years and we should respect them and not and we should stand bc they were old

so lame

Douchebag move or not?

My parents have season tickets to UT-Knoxville and I go to one or two games a year, usually the biggest games of the season. Anyway, they have had the season tickets since like '84 but they haven't been to games in ages.

When I go, I'm either wearing neutral colors or Michigan gear and I tell all the people around me that me and my guest are not sitting down the entire game.

Douche or not?

Gallon qualified. That kid's gonna be a good one.

Two down, one to go, and Turner is the one we need most, imo. He's a future AA cornerback.

Was going to post this, Gallon has Breaston written all over him. He should definitely be returning kicks next year.

Apparently, the coaches aren't too worried about Turner qualifying, so that he should be alright. He has the chance to see some significant time this year, maybe only at safety, but he'll be a cornerback eventually.

This. His cuts, vision, and open-field ability are just dirty. I've got big expectations for him.

Definitely at least returning kicks. He's supposed to have great hands, so that puts him ahead of anyone we have on the roster for punts.

Plus, he's a true slot WR, whereas Odoms and a lot of guys on the roster are more straight-ahead guys stuck in the wrong position. Gallon is shifty, and he knows the position already.

Turner is enrolled so it appears he is good to go. We won't know officially until August 3rd but this is a very, very good sign.

Sounds like Devin killed it at the Elite 11 camp. Says a lot about how much his passing has improved when he can hang with some of the top pro-style passers in the country. Supposedly his size, feet, and overall athleticism are downright freakish - read one scout's opinion that he'd be a top-10 overall prospect if he played WR full-time.

The more I read about Devin, the more I think Tate may be on borrowed time as the starter - which I love, but not because I have anything against Tate. It's more that I enjoy turning QB from a toxic waste dump into a meat grinder for playing time; I think you'll see this at most of the offensive (defense will follow, imo) positions as RR continues to recruit. Nobody's going to be a starter without earning the hell out of their spot.

Hell, with 2 young athletic QBs I don't see why we couldn't platoon them. Or with Gardner's athleticism, run sets with both of them on the field. ****, the spread was supposed to be less Carry and more fun right?

Played golf with Ben Cronin at the U Course yesterday. Not a good golfer really, but it was interesting to watch a 7-footer try to swing a golf club.

Justin Feagin has been kicked off the team.

http://www.detnews.com/article/20090...-football-team

Not really that big of a blow, he probably wouldn't have played much the rest of his career. Classic case of a man without a position - didn't have the arm to play QB, didn't have the ball skills to play the slot. Will be interesting to see what the specific violation was, though.

Rivals board is also speculating some guys are in academic trouble in summer classes (rumored to be Cissoko and Shaw) and we may see another transfer next week. Cissoko was arrested last week, so he may be on thin ice already.

This is getting kind-of, sort-of disconcerting, depending on how much rumor evolves into fact.
