If Devin sees the field his freshman year it will probably be as a monster WR in the red-zone. See: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrZYZktLdns

He could be just as unstoppable on the fade route.

It's a great time to be a Michigan fan, period. Darius Morris is going to give us a legit PG next year and Vogrich is supposed to be the best shooter in the country. Smotrycz is blowing up big time. He and Hardaway are both great shooters, both potentially top 100 players. They should add another top 100 guy for 2010 before it's all over. Beilein's going to be dangerous with this type of talent.

People can talk **** about Rich Rod all they want, he knows what he's doing. Speed, speed, and more speed. Michigan football is going in a much different, but exciting direction.

Oh well. The only opinion that matters is the AD, and Martin is going to give RR time beyond this season.

And, I agree that 6-6 is a good baseline. Mostly because if they go 6-6 they WILL make a bowl game... because they're Michigan. Motor City Bowl would not pass up Michigan. I say 7 wins, but anything that would give us the extra month+ of practice for the bowl game would be huge.

There you have it, 6-6...could easily be 7-5 if we pick up a W over MSU, Wisky, or UofI. The more I look at the schedule, the more I am convinced that @Iowa is a must-win game for us.

I like the chances of luckboxing a win in any of those other 3 games better. Iowa should be pretty solid this year.

Starting 3-1 (or even better 4-0) would be a huge boost before the conference season. Need to start re-establishing some dominance over down teams and the MAC.

I just don't think ND is a good matchup for us in the 2nd game of the year...not hard to foresee Tenuta throwing the kitchen sink at Tate with moderate to great success. As schooled and advanced technically as he is for his age, he obv won't be able to instantly adjust to Tenuta-style blitz packages. ND's first game may be telling - if they go vanilla on defense, it's probably because they're saving some pretty potent stuff for us the week after.

I'd be pretty surprised if this happens. Georgia is literally the worst team in the FBS in terms of OOC traveling. Although, their trip to Arizona last year may have vaulted them to 2nd or 3rd worst. There's a great website that tracks this, I'll post if I can find it.

Now that I've seen the breakdown of UGA's schedule the next couple seasons, it looks like it's not going to happen. If the rumor that Michigan was looking at a program of that caliber for a home and home is true, though, it has exciting implications for future OOC scheduling.

I assume that Bill Martin is simply looking for a big name so they can get a national game to show off the new stadium (2010 home opener). Would be even better if it was a night game.

Outside of that, Martin has refused to schedule too tough because of the ND game every year. Although, when he retires, that could change.

I know. It's just that Georgia is by far the biggest name that's been tossed around irt to the stadium opener. Whoever it is will be a home and home and depending on how well that series works out for Michigan, it could break the ice for future scheduling.

Incorrect and don't count on it. If any major program wanted to play a 1 game series at Michigan Stadium, Martin would be all over it. That doesn't happen because other major programs want the same things Martin does - 8 home games and maximum revenue. It's ALL ABOUT $$$$$$. With stadium renovations to pay for and most of the athletic department budget riding on football, no AD at Michigan is going to get carried away playing home-and-homes to 'toughen up the schedule'.

Martin should and probably will consider one more (to go with ND) for '10-'11, but it'll never be 4 BCS opponents... unless the NCAA institutes a cap on the number of home games a team can have.

Yeah I saw Brian's post about the UGA schedule. Not going to happen. I still wouldn't mind Boise State in that opener.

me too, me too. seems perfect actually, because i'm pretty sure they could market (night game, omgpls) boise, and they wouldn't need a return trip the year after...

I would love to see Denard at CB, but FWIW, Rod Smith thinks Denard could start this year. He is VERY high on him.
