No way. Denard doesn't have an arm. Tate's main issue this offseason is making the correct call on the zone read and with more experience, I'm confident he'll be much better at that next season and our offense will have a better rhythm to it.

Yeah, frankly I just don't think Denard is a QB period. He needs to switch position or transfer. I hope RR can persuade him to play WR/KR/PR. It's in the best interest for Michigan (to have a play maker on the field) and for Denard if he's trying to make the pros.

Denard has an arm, he's just not accurate. I don't know if this is because of talent or if the college game is just quick for him right now.

Here's something I noticed today that I kinda hate. When Tate is in the game, we never run a QB draw out of an empty set. When we put 5 WRs out there, they usually have 4 guys in the box, and everybody is so spread out. I don't get why we don't mix it up by having Tate take the snap and just run straight ahead and find a hole for almost a guaranteed short gain (provided he doesn't just drop the ball while running of course)

Rich Rod could still be fired this season imo. GMs and ADs say a guy's safe and fire him later all the time. After the game Martin said Rich is the coach next year ..... today. Then he told the press to delete the word today. Even if Martin supports Rich he might not have the final say.

I mean, he could have said something today to the media, that's why I asked. I think he's coming back but I don't put much weight into a post-game quote.

Warren back is huge. Him and Woolfolk, assuming he stays at CB, and we're at least decent at that spot. So that leaves everyone else, Vlad, Turner, and...uh, well, probably those two, to get good at safety. Will we move Kovacs to LB? He'd still be slow for the spot, I think, and small, but OTOH he's not horribly slow for the spot, unlike safety, and it lets him do what he does well (tackling) much more often. It's not ideal, although obviously any scenario where you are plyaing a slow small walkon isn't going to be ideal, but I think he could be decent there. Again though, size is going to be an issue.

Right, it's not like the person is obviously guilty or anything, but it's bad news. Sigh, we REALLY need a quiet offseason. Both for avoiding attrition and just for our sanity as fans.

Saw on MGoBoard (by way of Rivals) that the coaches have told Marvin he will be starting out at FS. I suppose that leaves spinner between Kovacs, Hawthorne, Jones, and Bell.

Didn't Manningham leave after a second positive test for pot to avoid the fairly long suspension?

That's a firing scenario, I think. 6-6 and a loss to all three rivals. An 0-2 start is distinctly possible and basically death. Gonna be real hard to dig out of that, especially with road games against OSU and PSU.

I'm picking 8-4, mostly because I have the last 2 years and I'd hate to deviate and finally be right.
