We really jus ended the season 1-7 with the only win being vs Deleware State. How ****ing pathetic is that?

We beat Eastern/Western/ND/Deleware St/Indiana........EL OH EL.

This season was such an epic fail

Part of Zook's success in recruiting was also his staff - Locksley and Dan Disch were bad-ass recruiters for him.

As far as our staff, Hopson seems to be the weak link - his is the unit that shows little improvement, and he has contributed few players recruiting-wise to us.

If anyone deserves to go, its Gibson. But RR will never touch him.

Poll next season, assume "neutral luck", whatever that means to you, for all record projections:

1) RR WILL get fired if he goes x-x or worse?
2) RR SHOULD be fire if he goes x-x or worse?
3) You will feel pretty good about the year and our future if we go x-x or better?
4) You expect we will most likely go x-x?

Yes I know a ton will happen between now and then, recruiting, transfers, going pro, both our team and others. This is obviously a highly speculative poll.

Can you guys seriously get good in the next few years? This rivalry is getting boring as hell.

How about that triple option at GaTech? What a terrible pathetic offense. Oh right, they're better than your team!

Sigh, that's all I have. But I live in Atlanta now so I can sort of claim GaTech. Right? Right???

Alright, it's not too early to start figuring out depth charts for next year.

Skill positions should be easy:
QB - Tate
RB - Smith
FB - Moundros/Cox
TE - Koger
WR - Tree/Stonum
Slot - Odoms

OL could be tricky. Molk has C sealed up; I figure Huyge stays at RT...Omameh and Barnum most likely to start at guards, although one of them may shift to LT unless Taylor Lewan is a complete badass. If one of them plays LT, then Khoury moves into the vacant guard spot. I suppose we'll have to wait for spring/summer practice to figure this all out.

Omameh was great when he finally got onto the field... very encouraging for next year

Also, Schilling is back next year unless I'm mistaken. He redshirted in 2006.

turnovers non-withstanding, best that you have looked in a few weeks.

Quinton Washington is apparently a beast and could be somewhere in the rotation at G as a RS frosh as well.

Damn, forgot about Q, glad to hear he's playing to rave reviews. I really like the quality and depth we're building on our O-line...it's looking as though that will be a strength of ours for years to come

We're building depth slowly everywhere. Look at the difference at WR between last year and what it will be next year. I think the secondary is going through a similar transition (just a year behind). Turner, Witty (hopefully), and Vlad help out next year. Hopefully redshirting Turner will produce similar results as what redshirting Roundtree did. That extra year can be huge.

Well, the secondary should be better, but what do I have to hope for regarding the LB play? Bell, Hawthorne, Demens, Fitzgerald are the options for replacing Ezeh and Mouton and Kovacs or Marvin Robinson can take Stevie Brown's place. Do these guys have potential to be decent? CAN THEY FIRE JAY HOPSON?

I'd bet on G-Rob taking more and more control over the LBs. At the spinner I think we go with Brandin Hawthorne or Kovacs, with M-Rob getting a decent amount of reps for depth purposes. Keep in mind Robinson is only around 190 pounds right now; he'll need to put on some more weight in order to really get good PT.

I'm not sure that we have to replace Mouton - if he can ever have his brain-farts coached down (I don't think it's possible to be rid of them) he could be fairly productive. Of course, I'd also like to see Demens get some meaningful playing time. Ezeh should never, ever, ever be anywhere that's not the D-line. He just doesn't have the football IQ to be a linebacker.

Mouton's path to his senior year really isn't too much different than that of Prescott Burgess. Big-time safety recruits moving to LB, struggling with the position change but showing flashes of brilliance through their athleticism. Hopefully the light goes on next year for Jonas like it did for Burgess.

I sure hope GERG takes more control over the LBs. Not much to add, but I don't think it can be understated how important it is to have continuity in scheme and coaches. Sure, GERG probably did a ton of teaching last spring, but in a few months he'll be able to do the same thing while pointing out various examples from the players experiences under his system.

Oh and RR is officially back.

Any thoughts on Tate v Robinson? I think Denard has more raw talent while Tate is more polished. Maybe Denard will catch up with some practice?

I think Tate will win the job next fall, and I think Gardner will beat out Robinson for the #2 QB leaving Robinson at 3rd string. This is just my guess.

Also, here's Michigan's schedule next year:

September 4 Connecticut
September 11 @ Notre Dame
September 18 Massachusetts
September 25 Bowling Green
October 2 @ Indiana
October 9 Michigan State
October 16 Iowa
October 30 @ Penn State
November 6 Illinois
November 13 @ Purdue
November 20 Wisconsin
November 27 @ Ohio State

I think we're going 8-4
