It's a little hard to come down on the guy who's been dead for 15 years.

It's an absolute disgrace and all the statues and accolades should be removed.

This situation seems very comparable to the situations at Penn State and Michigan State.

And as strange as it sounds, I very easily could imagine a scenario in which all the athletes and all the coaches knew about "Dr. Anal", and the athletes were expected to laugh it off as part of the experience of being an athlete at the university.

Whenever these things come out everyone always knew.

I think the evidence that Bo knew is extremely convincing. The statue should come down, etc. But I gotta say, I am skeptical of his son's story. It's just too bizarre to believe. It sounds like a badly written screenplay. You tell your father you were molested and his response is to punch you in the chest and you go flying across the room. I mean come on. That just doesn't make sense. Of course "doesn't make sense" does not equal "didn't happen". I get that. But now the Bo part of the story transitions from "it was a different generation"/Bo was "out of touch", etc to Bo being basically the devil himself. And that could be true. Bo could be THIS evil. But if he was THAT evil to one of his kids then it's a safe bet he was that way to all of his kids. And if even one of his other kids weakly corroborates that bizarre story I will believe it no questions asked, but until then I'm gonna remain skeptical.

The step-sons claim raises a lot of questions like
-where were you during the Sandusky scandal?
- " " metoo?
- why does everyone speaking to the press for the first time have a lawyer by his side?

We have corroboration about the abuse and Bo's knowledge from players. That doesn't mean the rest of his son's story is true, but it doesn't mean it is false either. We may never know the truth of that claim with any real certainty.

The bolded part though... it doesn't make sense for Bo to use his power to force college players to be abused as an incentive/punishment, but apparently that's what he did. It doesn't make sense for coaches to rape minors in the showers, and yet they did.

True, but I don't really need to KNOW to believe. If one of Bo's other kids even weakly corroborates that crazy story I would believe it. Like if one of Bo's other kids was like, "Yep I can totally see my dad doing that cuz he was a ****ing *******" then I would believe it. But if Bo's other kids are saying something along the lines of "that's the not the Bo I knew" then I will remain very skeptical of the "punched me in the chest, flew across the room cuz I told my dad I was molested" story.


The rest makes sense to me. I don't think Bo was a very bright guy. He's just a football guy, most likely extremely ignorant outside of that realm. Bo legit probably didn't think it was a big deal (and he was wrong ofc). Sandusky raping kids in showers makes sense cuz we know he's sick and deranged.

But he "knew" the moment some kid allegedly shouted something at him in 1976.

This is so hard for me to believe/comprehend. Growing up in the Woody/Bo era he was larger than life. All accounts were that he was a great dude. Most of us had a hate/love feeling toward him. It really makes you wonder about all the coaches/leaders of that time. Fvck - who's next...Bear?
