People really give college DC way too much credit. DC will spend very little time worrying about the idiotic formation of having 2 QB's on the field at the same time. It's just flat out stupid, what are they looking to get from it? A shovel pass to DMac so he can get popped by LBers? Or a double pass? It's like coaches trying to run vanilla offenses to not show the good teams anything and then they get 1 chance in a big game to make that pass. Maybe if they ran those plays 10 times in games leading up to the big ones they could actually execute it.
Clock management - It's crazy how some people are just not good at basic strategy, especially coaches who have been in that situation literally 25-100 times in a career. With 2 TO's, what's more important, a few extra seconds and another play or a few less seconds and 1 less TO?
First half offense looked good, we say screen passes, and slants, and plays in the middle of the field.
Second half offense was none of that, 6 passes in 2nd half. Unless all the WR's were hurt, no reason not to practice your new offense in game situation.
Defense will probably be a top 15-20 unit so we will see stretches in game and a couple bad total games. It is what it is on that side.
The coaches thinking the 2 QB formation was a good idea is a little scary, and awful clock management last night could be the difference between a win and a loss vs a good opponent.
SP has talent but I am not sure he is that smart of a QB, just my impression.
