You already have one enemy that's trying to stop you from scoring, Indiana. Voluntarily created two enemies is just ******ed coaching. And of course running out of time ultimately burned us and yeah you could say "throw it in the endzone shea!!" or "why is an IU player allowed to kick the ball away from the ref!!", but none of those shenanigans happen if you don't voluntarily choose to destroy most of the clock on that 2nd down run.
Is there some stat out there that can properly capture how often a team wastes possessions/leaves points on the field, cuz if there is Michigan has to be close to #1. I suppose such a stat wouldn't be hard to create. Total offensive yards divided by points should capture it decently. Factor out losing teams cuz they suck at everything anyways. After doing that, it wouldn't shock me at all if Michigan is #1 at having the highest yards to points ratio. Just terrible in game coaching man. Luckily you can still beat the Purdues, Penn States, Nebraskas and other lesser programs this way, but you're not gonna beat Ohio State very often or win many playoff games with this problem.
