I actually have heard Gruden's name thrown out there. As someone who has not watched much of Tampa play under him, what kind of coach is he? If someone could fill me in with some info about Tedford too, that'd be great. I'm usually solidly drunk by the time Cal games come on and can't pay attention.
I was obviously happy with the result here. ND blows so unbelievably hard. Mallett made some nice TD throws and it was good to see him loosen up and show some personality. Hart was obviously real good. With no spreads coming up for a bit, the season might wind up a little OK, but Mallett playing against a real team, like Penn State next week, might be tough.
I wish we would have allowed Mallett to throw the ball a few times in the 2nd half. He needs as much experience as he can get. Handing off on every play isn't helping much.
MyTurn, question: I know you rag on Miles a lot. Any particular reasons? He did a good job at Ok St (and left it in a shambles), and is doing fairly well at LSU albeit with Saban's players so it is tough to tell how good he is. Your suggestions seem to be that going 10-2 or whatever with that talent was bad. What specifically did he do such that it was unjustifiable (since very talented teams lose games sometimes...USC lost 2 with great talent and Caroll is a great coach). I'm not disagreeing, I'm genuinely curious since I don't really see LSU all the much.
