solid choice.

because the 1-3 in front of their record, and another performance like today could lead to multiple liquor-store runs. might as well get a large order early and have enough.

Thoughts on the game:

1) I love the view from the alumni seats (section 2 ftw) but the atmosphere is pathetic and the old people behind me need to not get so pissed off when I'm standing up for a big play and screaming my head off.

2) I'm not positive, but I think UM may have been better off only playing 10 guys on defense instead of Cissoko. Just kidding, but he's definitely going on the shelf until Floyd plays worse than him, which is legitimately impossible.

3) Speaking of Floyd, the refs outdid themselves this week and called a PI on him on a ball that went 10 yards over him and the receiver's head.

4) We agreed at the time that IU made a huge tactical error by kicking the field goal on 4th and 3 on UM's 3 yard line (2nd quarter maybe?) to go up 20-14. Putting UM on their 3 vs letting them start at the 30 or 40 + the ev of going for it on 4th seemed like a bonehead move. Jim Tressel would've been proud.

5) IU wanted us to have great field position all day. Stonum - 7kr, 221 yards, long of 45. How do not consider kicking to anyone else on the field besides him???

6) If I see another snap end up on the ground 20 yards behind the line of scrimmage I'm going to kill something. My dad made a pretty good joke, saying that IU should intentionally jump offsides to induce the ******ed snap play from MoOOOOSMANANANAN.

7) I kinda wish we could throw the ball downfield occasionally. Even if the passes are mostly errant, it'll be good to keep the D on their toes.

8) Fat Kevin Grady rocks the Power I!

9) Is IU good at football? How did we give up 450+ yards from scrimmage to them?

10) Where is Junior Hemingway?

11) go blue

Well your defense played so well and they only have 4 downs in their pocket so probably 2% equity.

Back from the game. Thoughts:

- holy **** our LBs are terribad.
- holy **** our safeties are terribad.
- holy **** our corners not named Donovan Warren are terribad

Also Tate Forcier is not fast enough nor durable enough to make the decisions he does. I love Tate, I really do, but holy ****, THROW THE BALL AWAY SON. He's getting away with it because it's Indiana and Eastern, but he's getting crushed and doing costly stupid things and we're not going to fade those beats forever. We're one catastrophic hit away from significant Sherridamnit playing time.

On the plus side:

- Hey maybe Carlos Brown is a late round NFL pick?
- Darryl Stonum is exciting

I'll call it a very successful season if we take care of **** against Purdue and Delaware State, luckbox a road Big Ten win at either MSU or Illinois, and I'll enjoy our 7-5 season and trip to the Champs Sports Bowl. Saw a lot of forlorn faces coming out of the Big House today, but people are crazy. This team is not going to compete for a Big Ten title. Brian has been stressing this on mgoblog, but this season is for ENJOYING wins, regardless if we escape by a hair against a Big Ten doormat. The game was actually incredibly fun today, if you can silence your inner rage about the mistakes and poor execution on defense. I'm not saying it's a great win, or anything to be proud of, but it was fun, and I walked out happy.

I came to this thread to get an answer to the question of how you give up 500 yds to Indiana. I guess I have my answer. Bad lines make LBs and secondary look worse than they are, so you could have that going for you too.

our dline isn't our problem. we're starting a walk on at safety, a nobody at corner and the problems of any linebacker not named mouton is well documented.

The line is okay.

Brandon Graham is a first rounder this April. Martin is fine, perfectly capable. Roh is a very good pash rusher who is probably a liability against the run. Van Bergen is not so good. And on the whole the line is smallish.

But it's far and away the best "unit" on the defense. The line could be part of a very good defense; if we had adequate linebacking and defensive secondary play, this team could win 9 games.

I'm not saying zomg it's awesome, because it's not, because Roh is a pass rushing specialist who plays almost every down, Van Bergen is overmatched and the line is small. But the line is generally fine.

Any chance a 4-0 Michigan team probably ranked in the top 20 will be a road dog at 1-3 MSU next week? Sagarin predictor (pretty meaningless right now) has State as -4 on a neutral field before today's games.

My guess is we're ~3 pt favorites.

after msu's effort against cmu and wisco? probably not, but we won't be big favorites, and i'm very nervous for the game.... even though i know tate won't be.
