Aubrey Dawkins is a baller. The offense opened up so much because of his shooting. He's obviously not going to make everything like that, but the offense averaged 1.6 points per possession after he came in for Chatman early in the 2nd half. He also appears to be a damn good defender.

Zak Irvin is brutal when he's not making shots. His defense is terrible and he really can't create for either himself or others.

I think Walton is still hurt, he's not getting the lift on his shots and it's definitely affecting his ability to finish at the rim.

LeVert was awesome, per usual. He had so many tough luck misses. We ran pretty bad for the first 25-30 mins wrt shooting.

Lastly, Teddy Valentine is the WOAT. Bring back Ed Hightower.

I said before one of Dawkins or MAAR needs to step up and give Caris/Zak a blow. 10-12 minutes a game from either would be huge. Energy, D, and 3's.

Think we need to be a bit more risk-taking and aggressive while feeding the post. There were glimpses of Doyle and Donnal flashing open on those side PNR's. While neither can finish, you gotta keep going there. The offense can only be average when you're hoping for a missed switch or an isolation.

Teddy sucks.

Dakich and Lloyd had a nice embrace during a TV timeout.

Harbuagh and the Nerd unfortunately embraced after his speech.

If Walton can't be effective, I think you need to give MAAR at least 5 minutes. Kid can get to spots that Spike can't.

During the first half, I came to the conclusion that the biggest issue with this is the screen setting being so poor. Doyle and Donnal both struggle to set good screens and/or release at the proper time. It's something that Jordan Morgan did so perfectly and it went underappreciated for a long time.

We also need Irvin to be more of a threat along the baseline. Having GR3 as a threat to cut along the baseline was a huge part of the spacing in the past couple years and Irvin just doesn't do it.

Irvin also isn't very good when he does do it. He's still at his best as a standstill 3 point specialist.

best thing Spike does out there is step into shots when he has space.. everyone else catches the ball flat footed for the most part

He missed the layup, but it's nice to see Irvin actually read that baseline cut correctly.

This team really misses GR3. The back cuts, the finishing, the defense.

How many loose balls have we come up with? Like 2? We're certainly not playing well but we're def on the wrong side of variance so far.

He also rarely got sped up. Which this team seems to do.

Mostly the finishing tho.

Will be interesting to see how JB molds this team. Kinda late in the season and it won't be entertaining for the fan. But those of us who are Brad Stevens in a parallel universe, wondering if he can pull another miracle.

Tonight will be a good test for both clubs. I can't believe PSU is a point and a half favorite. My brain wants to think you guys win by ten but I know UM has struggled mightily lately.

Penn State is too good this year. Michigan is ****ed.

I hope you didn't bet on PSU

Agree with Bdidd that this is a crucial game for both teams. PSU is inconsistent and can look pretty good or completely horrible in any given half. Haven't watched much UM this year but I'd never look past your squad on giving anyone a tough game. Should be a fun one.
