If Beilein puts a guy on the ball and Turner still makes a miracle shot, what do you guys bitch about?

pretty obvious isn't it?

I would have like to see a little more pressure (prob ditto for beilen), but the dude luckboxed a shot from half court with a hand in his face in a game we had no business being in. Coaching wasn't the problem in this game.

People seem to overlook that if not for Beilein's coaching, we're not even in that situation.

A friend of mine who is probably a secret Michigan hater but usually pretty neutral called me and almost instantly was saying Michigan got screwed by the clock.

How about a pre-season top 20 team not even making the NIT? Are we allowed to bitch about that?

How about this team scoring 55 points or less in 6 out of our last 9 Big 10 regular season games? Just imagine how few we would have scored without the genius of Beilein. This season was an unmitaged disaster.. and I'm not sure how anybody can possibly disagree. And Beilein deserves at least some of the blame.

lol this. Beilein just have the coaching performance this season that has Thomas McArthur Amaker chuckling.

if your not gonna pressure inbounds pass (lololololol) then you need to have a man picking up Evan Turner (maybe someone like Wright? lol @ stuey being in the game at that point) and have another person shadowing him.

What you cannot have is 4 players aka 80% of your defense inside of the 3pt line when its impossible that a play will take place there once Turner catches the ball.

And ****ing lol @ whoever said he hit a halfcourt shot. He was atleast 10 feet inside of the halfcourt line. I bet he hits that shot between 15-20% of the time. He was 100% squared up and took a normal stroke, not a heave.

If you simple guard the inbounds pass or guard Turner forcing him to catch the ball going back to the ball instead of getting a running start forward then the shot he's taking is going to be a shot he hits less than 5% of the time.

Thad Matta even said he was shocked no one pressured the ball in an interview immediately following the game.

In fairness to Beilein, the entire team regressing in terms of shooting percentages is not his fault. If everybody shot the same percentage as last year, we win a few more games.

BTW, I wanted to remind everyone about Tim McCormick's comments early last season before LLP became eligible. He said LLP would be Michigan's best point guard since Rumeal Robinson. Epic fail McCormick.

If he gets some of the blame, then he gets credit for last year. And I think anyone would take the cumulative result of the last 2 years over Amaker. That comparison is just silly.

You could see where LLP might be decent, but wow does he lack confidence. At least Stu and Novak aren't afraid, if that counts for anything.

I just hope Beilein steps up the recruiting. Getting 2 mediocre recruits a year doesn't do jack ****. Hopefully dude from N.H. will be legit.

I didn't make any comparison to Amaker, but I agree that Beilein>Amaker by a decent margin. btw, I do give Beilein plenty of credit for last year.

However, one of my problems with Beilein is his recruiting philosophy. We all know he wants a certain type of player. Bigs who can shoot from the perimeter for one thing. But what that leaves us is a roster with several guys who are physically unprepared to play in the Big 10. He brings in McClimans who is 6'10 but so frail that he had to redshirt. Vogrich is also very frail so he was limited to a couple of minutes a game. Smotcryz is listed at 6'9 205. Jon Horford has a similar build. At some point don't we need a guy 6'10 255? Even if that guy can't make an 18 foot shot. imo we need a couple of bangers.

Michigan junior Manny Harris appears ready to leave the program for a chance at the NBA.

A source close to the 6-foot-5 guard said Friday Harris has informed U-M coach John Beilein he will not return to the program

When reached by The News, Harris would neither confirm nor deny he was leaving U-M.

"How did you find that out?" he said. "I will get back to you later on that."
